First, 'SEE' comments/post for Extra Space Storage of Arlington, Va. and Public Storage of Seven Corners/Falls Church, Va. Everything 'apply'(s) to this dump as well (this ones address is 3179 Draper Drive, Fairfax, Va. 22030 ) To 'get you' in' they 'claim'/'boast' for the higher rent(s) that they have 'climatization', when the HVAC (AC/heating/aircleaning unit(s)) on the second/third floors are 'set' (they tell you 'later' when you 'discover' that it's 'limited'/'marginal' at best and ask) at 55 degrees in the winter and 70 degrees in the summer (the system is 'set' to allow this 'margin' year-long, winter/summer) and it 'clearly' is an even 'wider' margin!! More like 40 degrees/90 degrees. And when the HVAC is not 'on' inside of this/these 'margins', of course the air gets 'stagnate' (stinks) of some other peoples stinking property. (or something?) Terrible, and the 'managment' simply will not address it (the HVAC or the stench of the slobs in which the property stench is coming from!!) And, of course, you can not do anything about it or they will simply start 'hinting' that if you do not 'like it?', well, then (they) can terminate your lease and you can just leave leave, as if you have all your life to be moving all your stored property all over kingdom come for all the false/incompetent practices of places like these. During the miserable time that I and others had to utilize a storage there, the HVAC system literally broke down and United Storage would not fix it for over 18 months in which 'compounded' the very same problems detailed into the extreme. Like 05 degrees in the winter and 110 degrees + in the summer. So much for any, even 'slightly' perishable goods that might be stored, eh?? The stench as well became/was putrid as well!! The 'manager(s)' simply refused to fix/repair the HVAC for at least 18 months and refused to 'compensate' the customers (this was on the third floor) during any of the time frame of the failure. They should have, by all 'proper' business practices, lowered and/or re-embursed the 'suffering' customers a 'good?'/fair amount of the premium rent(s) that was being charged at the time to the 'at present' customers. A 'situation' unique to this storage facility is the fact that on the 'main' ground floor they rent storage/parking for local businesses ('contracters' - lawn care company(s), etc.) and the workers on the crews of these company(s) use/abuse the one bathroom available. Keeping it trashed into oblivion! So you obviously can not 'depend' on being able to use the restroom when utilizing your storage unit on top of the above major inconvenience(s)!! And again, the 'management' simply will not 'address' the problem, except for during a time, they decided to lock the restroom up permanently with none available, until they 'realized' dumbfoundedly that this was causing customers/someone to have to urinate all over the facility where they could for there was no where 'else' immediately available! Of course, they did not 'address' the source of the problem, in which was these 'contracting' cruise mentioned, and 'maybe' a small portion of the 'regular' customers with just a regular storage unit and hardly ever there! What 'mentality', eh?? The rest of the facility is 'in general', a filthy mess as well. The dangerous 'tire flattening/blowout debris' problem exists here as well!! Parking is very 'limited'/'tight' and a lot of incidences of auto-damage goes on, some obviously vandalism. Last complaint I heard from the place (I of course do not rent there presently) was that, obviously because of the totally inferior 'security system' they boast to have, parts were stolen from the rental truck they have, so now they park it in front of the raised dock there, where there is only room for two vehicles. So now there's only room for one! So good luck spending all day waiting, or breaking your back getting in and out of this one (without being able to utilize the raised dock area), cause again, as with many businesses now days with 'premium charges', your 'time' is nothin' but 'trash' to them. And again, 'see' posted comments for Extra Space Storage of Arlington, Va. and Public Space Storage of Seven Corners/Falls Church, Va. if you value your life! All of the 'details' explained for these 'other' two exist here as well! I love this website 'RippOffReports'!! Get to 'tell it like it is' and hopefully save a lot of good people their valuable time and hard earned money$$!! Honest!! Oh! And the security gates keep breaking down and they take forever to repair them, leaving them 'open' for anyone/everyone to wonder in and out of facility 24/7, while/when they 'restrict' you/your 'access' to your storage from 6 AM to 10 PM!! So you, the paying customer must again, 'evolve' your life 'around' the business as well as all of the rest of the 'dis-service. 24/7 'access for the customer, of course, you can have at an 'extra charge' $$$$$ While every bum on the street wonders in/out all night - probably helping to trash the place/restroom as well!! (I did not 'list' this 'gate' issue with the other two referenced posts/comments - Extra Space/Public - yet it 'exists' there as well) And the 'elevator' problem exist here ('United') as well. Constantly breaking down and you end up spending all day there instead of just a few minutes waiting for the one or no elevator all day, or again, breaking your back/time going up and down the staircase(s) to 'get done' any storage business!! HONEST!!!
