Section: Conclusions of Law -
"...an unusual number of informal complaints from customers regarding UGE's marketing practices."
"...overall number of complaints is disproportionate to UGE's customer base..."

"...Of even more concern is that complaints against UGE have trended sharply upward since August 2007, reaching 140 in December 2007 and 130 in only the first half of January 2008. Many of the complaints allege overreaching sales tactics or misleading representations used by UGE representatives to solicit residential customers. While the existence of a few isolated complaints would not, by itself, equate to a finding of institutional misconduct, the number, trend, and types of complaints recently received by the Staff may indicate potential problems."

YAH THINK???

Please file complaints with the company, and with the State of Michigan, as per this document, they are required to disclose each and everyone of those complaints as well as how they resolved them to the Commision.

They are not to big to serve customers correctly.

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today issued an order commencing a formal complaint proceeding against Universal Gas & Electric Corporation.

On Feb. 22, the MPSC began an investigation into the marketing and customer service policies and practices of Universal Gas & Electric Corporation (UGE). After the MPSC staff found that the investigation was yielding unacceptable results, they asked the Commission to begin a formal, contested complaint proceeding.

In today's order, the MPSC directs the MPSC staff to file a single unified complaint against Universal Gas & Electric Corporation by Aug. 1 that covers all matters the MPSC staff believes to be pertinent to the issue of whether the company's alternative gas supplier (AGS) license should be revoked.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
