Universal Fidelity Corp from Houston TX calls and harrasses me at all hours including PRIOR TO 7 AM in several instances with a recorded message to call them back at 800-580-8887. Long ago I called and told them to remove me from their calling list because they are a collection agency but when I gave them my name they had no records of any actions regarding me.

They have continued to call and tie up my phone line with their recording that can't be hung up on (it keeps the line open and busy until THEY are done).

Today I returned the call again because I'm so frustrated with this continual and illegal harrassement.

They asked my phone # and I told them to tell me what number they called me at. They replied 219-326-XXXX.

I said that was my number why are they continually calling.

They asked if I was "jackie".

I asked, "Jackie who".

Jackie Neff.

"No I am not Jackie Neff, Why are you calling me?".

Are you Amber?

I asked "Amber who?".

Amber Dermody.

"No I am not Amber Dermody. Why are you calling me?".

They asked who I was and I gave them my name. They said they had no record of any collection action against me.

I DEMANDED once again (this has been going on for MONTHS!!!) that they cease and desist calling MY NUMBER since it is obviously wrong. I've STRONGLY DEMANDED IT BEFORE. Only time will tell if they do.

How is it that they can call a phone number on the national AND Indiana DO NOT CALL LIST, Call it REPEATEDLY, CALL IT BEFORE 7 AM repeatedly, Use a pre recorded device while calling the number MISTAKENLY and REPEATEDLY after being told not to call anymore??!!

Why are these people not being sued to high heaven or forced to pay fines or run out of business??

They were calling the wrong number at the wrong times for the wrong reason for the wrong person via a number registered on TWO Do NOt Call Lists via a recorded message!!

When I make a mistake I have to pay for it. I will not stand for them claiming this is a simple mistake. They failed to do proper screening of numbers and something needs to be done to make an example of these enfuriating inconsiderate law violating parasites.

I would like to know from my State Attorney General what your are willing to do and I would also like to know what legal remedies I have available to me to make these leaches pay for their mistakes.

This is a collection agency. They harrass people all day every day to get them to pay up. It's time these low lifes had to pay up as well.

I'm sorry but I'm VERY UPSET!!!!

Contact Federal Trade Commission and report them. Make sure you take your name and Numbers off all calling Lists by putting your number on the Do Not Call List. After thirty Days they can be fined. It is Harrassment and It is Illegal. You can also Download Form 3949A from Internal Revenue Service, fill it out and make a copy, Then send it to IRS Certified Mail. They will go through their records and sometimes these collectors are collecting information to steal your identity! Also Contact the United States Postal Inspectors and report them. They will go away. Good Luck!

I used to work for the company above - universal fidelity lp - in houston tx, there are a few bad apples in the bunch as there are in every career you go. The reason you may have been getting this calls is due to an automatic dialer. It takes a full 24-48 hours to get the number completly off the system. I have myself taken out numbers that were wrong only to have them come up again a few hours later. It is frustrating for us as well as for the person getting called. It is not necessarily harrassment if we honestly made a mistake, The reason the person probably asked if you were 2 different people is maybe they were given the number from them and thats the name in which the account and number is under - THERE ARE LIARS OUT THERE WHO DONT WANT TO PAY THEIR BILLS!!! THEY WILL GIVE OUT FALSE INFO TO KEEP FROM PAYING THEIR BILLS. We have a job to do and skip tracing is the only way we find out if the info we have is true and correct. If we have spoken to the consumer @ that number before and now all of a sudden it is wrong... we are keeping the number on the account.... if the consumer gave us the number and said to call... we are going to continue to call until we speak to consumer... but we will take the number out if it should prove to be the wrong number. we are all human... and i am most certainly not a leech as you call it.... there is a better part of being a bill collector... like when someone doesnt know how to deal with their debts or even where to begin thats where we come in handy. I will help out where i can give free advice and such.... its not really my fault if you dont want to listen.. i mean that is kinda the reason youre in the mess youre in to begin with.... but i dont appreciate being called a leech....
