Universe Express, Inc. Trusted Universe Express-Got Ripped Carlstadt, New Jersey

 I contacted Universe Express over the phone and received quotes and they answered a lot of my questions.  I also called other moving companies, but Universe Express made me feel at ease and I felt as though I could trust them.   On moving day, I have to say they arrived on time but, a red flag arose when the 'the supervisor' told me that there would be an additional mover needed due to all of the boxes we had already boxed!   I said, "what?.....I did all of this boxing myself, so I would not have additional charges. Well, he would not even begin the work without me agreeing to having an additional mover.  I was very upset, but I knew the move had to be that day, and that is where they get you. 

They made a big deal about my sleep by number bed, and some other person from the company came to my apartment just to see my bed, and to make 'sure' my bed would be disassembled properly. Later I found out that they had located a used plastic container specifically for a sleep by number bed. 

Unfortunately, I had to leave my apartment while they were moving my furniture, etc.  Not a good idea, it was just myself and my young daughter, so therefore I had no one to keep an 'eye' out on the movers. Which is always a good idea. They seemed trustworthy.

It was a very long and tiring move for the movers, and my daughter and myself, due to the extreme heat.

 Once we were at the storage facility,  and towards the end of their job, the 'supervisor' game over to me and  grimaced regarding the bill.    I said "well, what is the amount?"  I figured a few hundred over, a thousand dollars.  He said no, sorry.  The final bill was $1,400 over the thousand dollar bill I was figuring on.  I said "what?"   I was not prepared to pay an additional $1,400.00 on top of the thousand I was going to give him cash.  My daughter and I just sat there in a daze, as to what we were going to do now.   Honest to God, I had no idea what we were going to do.  I am the type of person I hate to borrow or ask for loans from anyone!   I had know choice but to ask my sister and her husband.    Unfortunately, ( for the Super) my brother in law is a stickler, you don t go over a quote, not triple or quadruple the price!   He wanted to 'talk' to this Super face to face and needed to be there at the storage facility and to personally meet the 'supervisor' for the credit card payment of $1,400.00   My brother in law laid into him!!!!   trust me...that was good!!  but in the end, they got their money.  So now I have to seem them in court!

After the payment went through there were remaining items to be moved in to my space, it was my sleep by number bed, and ironically my bed was out of the crate and they were trying their best to jam everything into the space, the 'Supervisor' at that time let the air out of the my bed, what was the purpose of the crate?   I am hoping if and when I move into my new place which is relatively soon, my &1,700.00 sleep by number bed works!!
