University of Phoenix, University Of Phienix Online Campus Is this a ripoff or is it reasonable? Woodland Hills California

I graduated from UOP and IT IS NOT A SCAM!  Fortunately, I have been to a traditional school so I actually have something to base my experience off of. First of all, a bachelors degree at ANY school is going to cost you around $50,000.00 dollars.  It's funny how other colleges hide charges in ghost fees... such as parking fees, athletic fees... state tax fees etc.  At UOP I spent hours with my enrollment counselor going through the financial end of stuff.  She helped me with everything and explained every detail very clearly to me.  When I went to BYU they just told me the website link and "good luck".  My best friend went to UT and says she didn't get any help with her stuff either.  They expect you to do all of it on your own.  All that paper work that you signed and received should have been read by you.  Also, UOP has title IV funding,so you can only take loans out for a year at a time.  I don't think you are being straight with us on this report.  Or maybe you are confused, either way... that school is too big to be going out of its way to "trick" you into more money.  Also, not only did my enrollment counselor explain everything to me, but my finance counselor called me before my classes and broke it all down for me again.  After I finished my degree at UOP I started applying for jobs.  It only took me two months to find the job of my dreams. 

I now make over $60,000.00/yr, so paying my loans back is not a problem for me.  I love UOP and without them I would never be able to support my children ( I am a single mother of 3)  Finish your degree, and you too will reap the benefits.  You can log onto your original application and see that all the charges were laid out for you.  Next time, take time out to ask questions and read how much school or anything else that you apply for is going to cost you.  Hang in there you have tons of support when you get out.  UOP has a HUGE alumni network all accross the country and even accross the world.  If you notice, most of the negative feedback that you are getting is from people that all have one thing in common.  They didn't finish their degree.  These are not victims... they are part of the millions that just didn't have what it took to finish what they started.  There is a good reason why college educated people make more money.  Employers will notice the amount of time,money and discipline it took you to finish this very hard chapter in your life.  YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!  Don't listen to the "victims".  I wonder what any other school would say to them if they spent money that wasn't theirs.  By the way, that money was deposited from the direct loan people... not UOP.

UOP is a scam!  It is not your fault that you believed what they told you!  You have an enrollment counselor to help you, not lie to you and trick you into enrolling at their school.  If you cannot believe what your enrollment and fiance counselor have to say then what is the point of having them?  They are a scam!

I did do my homework!  In fact I maintained a 3.0 average.  A year into my studies, Pheonix University deposited 3,000 dollars into my account with a reciept of "REFUND".  I went to the website, and looked at my account. The deposit was there again, as "REFUND"  It was marked differntly than the any other tuition deposit in my account.  I had every reason to think it was a "REFUND".  Three weeks later they call and say..."That was a mistake"  It's not a refund and you should have known."  I sent the the copy of the reciept they gave me.  They say they didn't care, that it was my fault and I should have known.  I pointed out that the deposit was marked differntly than every other transaction in the past.  And that it was a diffent amount.  They said "so what" and then changed the information in my account (because they know they made a mistake). I had to quit school.  I still have the reciepts and would like to file suit against them if any attorney's are reading this.  These people are frauds!  Do NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL!!
