I bought a phone that I needed to have unlocked. I tried different websites online such as www.wirelessunlocks.com and did not prevail with a "code" to unlock my phone. I went to another website called www.unlocktotalk.com and they gave this information on their website:

Soo..... I tried it. It says that all orders placed before 5:00 p.m. eastern time would post the same day. So I waited and waited and waited. Then I started calling different phone places in my area asking if they knew anyone that could do this for a PDA phone. I eventually found someone. I was able to get my phone unlocked first thing in the morning. I DID check the UNLOCK TO TALK website before leaving that morning and still....nothing was there. No code on any spreadsheet as promised, also remember, I was supposed to have it the day before.

Well, I got my phone unlocked by someone who said that there is no way a code would be able to unlock the PDA. He actually hooked my phone up to his laptop and unlocked it. I contacted Unlock to talk to ask for a refund but by this time they had posted some type of number on their page claiming that was "my code". I talked to the owner, Ryan only after being cussed at and called a b*tch. Then here is one of the emails that the owner sent me:

When you repeatedly harass, refuse to follow instructions to assist you, and continually call and expect everything to go your way or no way you can expect to be cussed at and insulted unless you are dealing with a major corporation that can afford to have their employees waste time dealing with people like you.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY - BUYER BEWARE!!!! I never got my money back and then I was accused of trying to STEAL FROM THEM with the owner stating that the code that they posted was the one that unlocked my phone.

Jeff Hoberg, who we never even received a payment from posted false and slanderous information about us online.   Since this information cannot be removed I have no choice but to contact an attorney who specializes in internet related slander and defamation to pursue damages.   If anyone else is considering posting to this website make sure all of your claims are true to avoid legal action against you.

Posting Consumers names on here Is a huge NO NO. I believe anyone with the name Jeff Hoberg as a consumer has a private right to privacy from transactions with a business. See the Fair Consumer Privacy Act. Big NO NO. Another way Unlock to Talk Is visciously acting out against people already affected my thier actions. Ryan from unlock to talk Is Digging His hole Deeper I would issue and apology and let this be.. He is doing damage to his business.I guess the truth is right here. If your a customer and you have a problem besides the harassment the owner will post your name on here as well. BE CAREFUL CONSUMERS if your order does not go well apparently your name and private info will be posted on the internet illegally. You have right to voice your opinion and state facts about the situation. I gave Ryan the owner the opprotunity to have my posts removed it he quit threatening me and calling my cell phone harassing me. If he apologizes and removes the negative items I will remove my true statements to avoid any more harassment from him or Guin, Jon or his father Marlon. I have printed this out for my protection.


Your move Ryan. The people who google your company and the consumers of the world are watching.

I find it interesting that you didn't even post your real name.   NoKudos4U.   I'd like you to provide some evidence other than something you typed to show that you really did make a payment and that your name is infact Jeff Hoberg.  

It is blatently obvious that your only purpose is to bad mouth and attempt to do harm to my business.   If I did have a way to verify you are who you say you are I would have grounds for a slander lawsuit against you.

If you really did make a payment why don't you post a picture of your monthly bank statement to show a charge on it that was not credited back by your bank.   I have asked for that repeatedly and you have yet to provide any evidence.   All I know is I have not received a payment and I have posted pictures of my Paypal account search to prove it.

In reviewing what this supposed customer claims I have come to the conclusion that he is nothing more than a competitor attempting do damage our reputation.   We never received a payment from him to begin with.   If I did receive a payment I would have refunded it. 

 He claims that he knows me and met me at a convention which I have never even attended.   That is a flat out lie.  

He got on our chat line and sent very rude emails in order to frustrate and anger our employees to the point where they would react so that he could post what they said on here.   If I was to post the cuss words and rude emails he sent to us it would not look one sided at all.  Once again, it is no excuse for my employees to react the way they did, and they will not do it again if they want to keep their job.  

At this point I realize that this is not someone wanting to resolve a problem.   If he really wanted to resolve the problem he could simply call me to work out whatever is agreeable to him.   I have not received 1 single phone call from him with any attempt to resolve this issue amicably.   I hope everyone reading this won't buy into it.   He just wants to damage our reputation, not get a code, or a refund.   End of story.

If I didn't care about my reputation and customer service would I even take the time to respond to his complaint?   Of course not!

Referencing the response from the Unlock to Talk owner

The Bottom Line:

Buyers please be aware that not only did I never receive the difference in costs but I never received any refund at all!  I was disrespected and called a B*tch and cussed at.  As more people find this site, there will be more complaints that come forward. 

In his own words, I "tied up the phones for 2-3 hours" and called 100 times but then he states that I did not give them the opportunity...?

I will allow you to make your own conclusions here.

I copied there 100% Money back guarantee in my original post.  There was never any satisfaction and I never received one penny back from this company.  I will still stand by my word of BUYER BEWARE!  This is not the kind of company you want to deal with.  Save your money, it will save you a lot of stress, I promise. 

And last but not least, I think it is truly pathetic that this man compares what OUR troops are doing with what he is doing.  He is trying to play a sob story and get to your heart with this bologna.  Again, I will assume that anyone who thinks about dealing with this company has half a brain and runs.  Have a great Christmas all :)

Frankly I am embarassed about the way my employees handled this situation.  


The problem with this order is that we did not receive a payment.   I told the customer multiple times that I believed that he paid, but I did not receive the payment.   Either there was a problem on his banks end, or there was a problem on the end of our credit card processor.


When I emailed this customer personally I told him I would give him a free code even though I did not have a payment because I believed he paid even though it would cost me money to do so.


It was obvious that he did not believe that I didn't receive his payment, but I did believe that he paid.   I just wanted to resolve the issue professionally and make sure he was satisfied.  


The last email I sent I told him he would get the code for free if he would just send his IMEI number.   I also told him that even if the payment did come through I would refund it because he has a phone that is not compatible with USA networks.


Marlon is not the owner of this business.  He thinks that because he is my father he can act like it is.  He is the Manager of our Member program.   Sometimes if employees are too busy to handle all of the incoming calls they are forwarded to him and he helps answer questions.   He should not have responded to this customer the way he did and I, Ryan the actual owner of the business am embarassed for the way he handled the situation.


Jon, Marlon, and Guin have each been repremanded for this situation and advised on how to better handle the situation the next time a customer insists that a payment was made that we have not received.

For your information the employees who handled you are being repremanded and could lose their jobs due to their inappropriate responses in handling the situation with you.



The problem on getting your request processed is NOT from our end, it is from your end and you seem to have a problem with listening and taking responsibility for issues that are related to your own account issues with PayPal and the credit card you attempted to use.



We have processed hundreds of other orders today without any problem!



You also justified your rudeness and overtalking conversations with me due to your emotions and though that does not give my team the right to treat you as they did, I did  not deserve your inappropriate behavior and I would have given you the code complimentary had you chosen not to go to the attack mode.



You want to make another WAR and attack my business?  You also have a business to attack sir!



Take responsibility for the original problem which is your own d**n accounts not ours and back off and cease and desist with your threats and attacks and I will still comp you a code.



Otherwise lets fight to the end should we!  Last man standing lets go....you want to fight bring it on!

This is the copy of my chat with a guy name jon, after 2 hours of waiting for my 5 minute code to be sent. Now mind you their chat time says 930 pm yet its really 3pm when i first started waiting for my "5" MINUTE code. I erased my IP address, for my security. I have over 23 kiosks that sell service under my company, I personally know thw owner of unlock to talk,might not remember me but I know him, I know his associates who do lots of business with them. I have the owner's personal information in my contact book. If this does not get solved I will send an email out to him all all 2300 of my telecom contacts with these chat records saved on here. Customer service has gone down the tube and this company seems to be at the spearhead of it all. How about instead of the next rebuttle tell the consumer what your going to do to fix these problems. See you at the next convention in Vegas!

What really happened!

Our timeframes are not guaranteed - they are estimated. However, if the service provider does not respond as usual for a same day code we gladly refund the difference in the cost of same day and next day code. We still must pay for the code, and we still must rely on a third party since we do not have direct access to the codes. There are absolutely no refunds on unlock codes unless the code is not found, or it does not work. There is no refund just because of a delay caused by the third party except for the refund of difference between same day and next day price.

I remember this unreasonable lady quite well since it was one of the very few problems we have had out of thousands of orders. Unfortunately the good never gets reported in our society. In Iraq the vast majority of our soldiers do good deed after good deed for the Iraqi people, but do we ever hear about the good they do? No, all we ever hear about is when a few bad soldiers or ex-soldiers murder innocent women and children. At least this site gives me an opportunity to express the other side of the story.

This woman was not satisfied to receive the refund of the difference in same day and next day price. She demanded a full refund AFTER we had already sent her code. Quite convenient if you ask me. She waits until we send the code, then she claims that another company unlocked the phone and demands a full refund just because we couldn't get it the same day. Everyone I've ever dealt with, and in every deal I have ever done myself... you ask for a refund before you spend your money somewhere else, rather than spending your money somewhere else and then expecting a refund. Well... unless you are willing to risk not getting a refund by jumping the gun. That is what she should have expected. If she talked to us before we sent her code we may have been willing to attempt to cancel the order we made, and in turn offer her a refund. But after the fact just doesn't cut it.

We almost had to call the police on this lady. She called back at least 100 times and tied up our phone lines for 2 - 3 hours. It comes as no surprise that this lady would waste even more time of her life being negative and talking bad about us, posting personal information about us on this website. She is a very negative person. The kind of person everyone should do their best to avoid. Hopefully this won't cause anyone to lose confidence in a company that has delivered correct unlock codes to thousands and thousands of EXTREMELY satisfied customers, just because of one basket case.
