I bought a show room condition Corvette off ebay and made an appointment to have some goodies installed by VC Motoring in Boca Raton the day after it arrived. It was extremely hard to buy such an awesome car and immediately give up driving it for a week while having work done to it, but I kept telling myself it'd be worth it... boy, was I wrong. First off, i was quoted $15,000 for parts and labor and told that I should be driving home Friday if I had the car in Monday. Friday came and went... no car... Wednesday rolls around and I finally get assurance that the car will be done by noon Thursday (6 days after the original day i was told). So Thursday comes... noon... not ready... 1... not ready... 2... not ready... 3 not ready... at 5:34pm, I get the call that I can start coming over. I go from furious to ecstatic as i realize i'll finally be able to drive my new baby. Oh... slight problem... on Wednesday, i was also told my original quote was a bit low and it actually came out to $16,350... but again, i'm only focusing on finally getting my dream car returned. so i get there, they proudly walk me through the electronics (reverse and forward cam, indash touch screen, digital cluster, custom speakers, jammer, and a few other goodies).

I'm giddy, i can barely contain myself as i'm lead through the new toys. so we finish up, i jump in and head home with the biggest smile i've ever had... until i notice someone has put 27.43 miles on my car while it sat in a garage... hmmm... now, if i had engine work done, obviously theres some test driving expected... but theres no need to drive anywhere to test speakers and electronics... so i call to ask... i didnt say how many miles were added because i want the dolt on the phone to lie to me... "oh, we had to move it in and out of the garage a few times while switching out the cars we were working on" "oh... so you did that enough to add 27 miles on the car?" "theres no way, i promise you thats it" we went back and forth, but i didnt care, whats 30 miles? i'm sure they beat the piss out of it, but she's mine now and no damage is done... so i thought. i pull right into my garage at home and get my camera to start taking pictures for facebook. once i get the garage lights on, i notice something on the rear tire well... rubber dust... someone peeled out... i was ready to murder someone.  I start inspecting the car like a crime scene. i found some nice scratches in the paint where it looks like someone had a belt buckle or zipper scratch my paint while leaning into the trunk to fit the speakers. i call, no answer. i call the next day, expecting them to kiss my a*s after the increase in cost, the mysterious mileage, and now obvious damage and abuse... "are you sure the scratches weren't already there?" i almost laughed "its a brand new car... i can't imagine how" "maybe at the dealer, someone leaning into the hatch. our guys wouldn't be that sloppy" "oh, but joy riding and burnouts is totally different?" "i can't imagine how that could have possibly happened while your cars was here, i assure you it couldnt have"... and this continued until i was close to making threats and decided to slam the phone. The day after, i was driving to work, trying to enjoy the new system i paid an arm and a leg to install... and it went out... completely dead... when i got home, my neighbor and i decided to inspect the handy work of these geniuses and found what looks to be burn marks as well as discoloration on the hatch... they actually managed to start a small fire in an amp or something... HOW THE HE** DO THESE GUYS HAVE A BUSINESS? They basically suggested i make an insurance claim... thats just what i need... fire damage on the title of a brand new Corvette... I'm having to cut this short because i'm growing increasingly upset as i relive this experience. The bottom line is STAY AWAY FROM VC MOTORING. you're better off setting your own car on fire and saving yourself the time and $17k. I paid a lot for a superior service and was far from satisfied.

sad story..but..

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 03, 2010

..what did you base your decision on to trust these guys with your brand new "awesome' factory showroom fresh Corvette?

You were quoted more money for whatever they were going to do then many people make in a year these days.

I am not attempting to defend this operation..but if others are not to make the same mistake, it should be made clear how you got suckered in..or if we all should just check out a business before we trust them with our awesome cars???

..was it the pictures on the website that got you? Word of mouth? (which is a better way to make a decision like this unless you do not personally know or trust the mouth the words are coming from)..or was it a stupid mistake on your part?
