I was recently at my local VIP Auto Parts store to return a defective car battery that I had purchased there 6 months ago. I was informed by one of the employees that it would be approximatly 45 minutes to test the battery. I told them that would be fine and I would return shortly. As I was backing out of the parking spot I kept hearing a "thump, thump' noise coming from my tire. I got out and looked and saw a large piece of metal sticking into my tire. I immediatly went inside and informed the manager as to what just happened. I was informed by the manager that it would be 3 HOURS before they could look at it. But then the manager told me if I wanted to remove the tire myself they might be able to look at it in 20 MINUTES.
So reluctantly, I removed my tire and sat there for the next HOUR only to be told by the manager there would be NOTHING that they could do because the metal had put 3 holes in the tire. He then told me if I wished to PURCHASE a tire repair kit I could then patch my tire.
I then informed the manager that I had my tire punchured in his dirty driveway. He still insisted that there was nothing he could do for me.
I have been a very good customer there for many years. BUT, NOT ANYMORE!! I will take my business to xxxx xxxx (((REDACTED))) .
If some one had got a flat tire in my driveway because of my negligence I would certainly fix or buy them a tire but, That would be the decent thing to do. sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome!
