I'm a soldier in the United State Army. We do a lot of moving around so i need a reliable way to communicate with my family. My wife is currently residing in the Dominican Republic (moved there after the earthquake that took place in Haiti back in 2010) i was looking for a company that would allow me to make international calls to the Dominican Republic without having to pay by the minute. So i decided to go with vonage because they offer the "WORLD WIDE PREMIUM UNLIMITED" that plan allowed me to talk to my family stress free and i was paying $70 and change after tax. i had that plan on my account for about a little over a year, never miss a payment. And on Aug of 2012 i try calling my wife there was a message saying that i was block from making that call. I instantly check my bank statement(vonage took their money) I then call customer service only to find out that i was being charge for every minutes(8cent) that i use to talk to my wife. On average i take to my wife 4 time a day and depending on what day those can easily be two hours each.() (vonage been pulling money out of my account without my consent, today they pull $90 which land me in the overdraft zone) they justify their action by saying that the user agreement cover them because it allow them to make adjustment on customers account without even notifying them! they got me stuck now because hey already charge me for the month plus $90 in overage fee and i still can use the phone untill next month without them trying to take more money out of my checking account, which will then put me in a bigger hole. I sign for vonage world wide unlimeted plan and vonage change my plan without my consent, they put me on a plan where i would be paying the base monthly fee plus every minute that i use while talking to my wife. people need to know hoe vonage really operate so they wont end up like me. Because i'm on my way to Korea and looking for other mean of communication on short notice now.
