PRODUCT OR SERVICE INVOLVED: Telemarketing. They collect credit card information from US Citizens under the pretense to reduce their credit card rates from 9.9% or higher down to 5.9% to reduce and assist them to pay off their credit debt in 3-5 years.

TOTAL COST OF PRODUCT OR SERVICE: $990 is the initial fee.

They use auto-dialers to ring into the homes of Americans nationwide.

Call-Centers located in Georgia, Texas, and Florida

VP Marketing conducts itself in questionable business activities due to their hiring call center representatives that are not screened. Their hiring procedure consists of a group interviews, candidates are selected subjectively, and then candidates selected are scheduled for a basic training on what information to collect from callers. They are then given a phone script of what to say to callers and then they are released to start answering inbound calls generated via their auto-dialers. Once credit card information is collected, there are no tight security measures to prevent the Customer Service Agents from stealing that information and then defrauding customers (i.e., credit card forms completely filled out can be easily stolen and used for identity theft purposes).

VP Marketing aka VistaDebt aka Account Services aka Safe Ride Warranty aka Paradise Shipping aka DT aka 1st Metropolitan Atlanta Realty is in the business of credit reductions services, warranty issuance services, Financial Planning services, and Real Estate office.

VP Marketing core operation operates as follows: Inbound calls are pre-qualified for the debt program with the customer's credit card information. A Customer Service Agent then explains the program via script to the credit card holder to determine if the credit card holder wants to receive a package or do negotiations on the spot. Once credit holder qualifies and authorizes charges on recording, the CSA request the credit holder's personal contact information for a package deal or live negotiations. If a package deal, the credit holder receives a welcome package asking to fill out an invoice for additional services. The credit card holder is then referred to financial planning (customer service agents at different location) to be sold additional services.

VP Marketing appears to be a front operation for something much more sinister behind scenes. Telemarketing scams are rampant in our society and the way that this company handles the public's private information could be putting consumers nationwide in jeopardy.

This company should be thoroughly audited to discover if the credit card information is being sold to 3rd parties or because the company does not actively do background checks on its' new hires and their lack of strict security in the handling of public credit card information, these unprofessional business practices maybe directly affecting consumers and thereby violating the rights of consumers.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

I knew this company was a ripp off the day i got hired

AUTHOR: Njemile - (U.S.A.)

I was hired on october 17Th or 18Th, and started on octobr 20th(Moday). I trained one day and started the same day. There was no Formal traning. they gave us a script to read on the phones and within 10 minutes of training we were sent to the sales floor where we began taking calls. The calls were targeting elderly and sick people. All type of businesses were bieng called. Ex. Army Bases, restaurants, hospitals etc. i knew then that i had to find another job. The people there are so unprofessional its a shame. You can be fired for anything,as little as going to the restroom too many times, calling in, looking at someone the "wrong" way. There was so much fratenizing going on within the warrant Dept. If you pushed up on a mngr, you received a promotion. After I found that out, i quit.

#2 UPDATE Employee

VP Marketing Scam!

AUTHOR: Sguiont - (U.S.A.)

I was interveiwed and hired by VP marketing all in one day. My references and employment history were not verified (I personally contated each reference). I was given 1 hour of training and a script and put on the phones with the purpose of obtaining credit card information from client's for debt management and or consolidation purposes.

I received over 150 calls on my first day asking to be taken off of our call list, when my manager saw my long list of names I was instructed not to take any more names, but focus on people who could make me money. I was also advised that I should use any personal information to my benifit (illness, children, problems) to gain the clien'ts trust and to control the converstaion. We are offered large sums of money when a deal is closed and we are also trained to allow the customer to believe that we are their personal banking institution. These calls are made to elderly people who live alone and are ill, people who don't own credit cards and people who are struggling with making their payments and really need to lower their intrest rates. This is most disturbing to me at this particular time as we are on the verge of a recession and I myself accepted the job because I have been unemployed for the past 6 months and I understand the struggle that we all are facing at this time...................

Please do not give out your credit information over the phone, your address and telephone numbers. They prey on people in need , people who are in desperate situations and the elderly. I am in desperate to need of employment to support my family, however I will not be a part of anything that that is negative and or hurting people who are already hurting.

Thanks,

SGuiont
