I was called by Vacation Club by cheap trips after I had made a previous airline purchase through cheap trips.com(I think). They offered me a package deal of airline tickets anywhere in the continental US for a purchase price of $108.95 for 2 round trip tickets . I thought I drilled the caller (Katherine Lai Agent #KL6152) about this promotion and its validity because as usual it seemed too good to be true. She insisted they just wanted some of their members to become active again in travel and this "deal" was just a way to do that. After I talked with her further about the validity of this, I was convinced and purchased 4 tickets. She told me I had 3 years to use the tickets. Gave me a confirmation number, customer ID number and pin. I talked with a manager Sharon Walker and completed the transaction. This was Feb. 2010. I now wanted to redeem my tickets. First, I was told after mailing in my "Redemption request form" I had to purchase Hotel tickets somewhere in the location I was traveling. OK I was not told that but I was willing to do that. After mailing the redemption form in I waited over a month and got nothing back. I called and was told by Sharon Walker I had no deal, it was to be redeemed within a year! My stomach began to get sick. I was feeling the scam come to life. She told me to call a cusomer service number.(800-211-5119). The person there(Frederick) was soooo rude and unhelpful I was in shock. NO ONE from this business had any desire to either explain this or even listen to me. They did not care what I was told and believe it or not, this Katherine person, supposedly does not work there anymore. I really wish someone could help me. But I hope no one else uses this "Club". But I hate to see them up and disappear when the complaints start to pile up. I m sure that is what will happen. I filed with the NJ BBB. Dont really feel that will get my money back.
