I contracted with Vacation Sales & Marketing to sell my Liki Tiki Timeshare, in Orlando, Florida. The agent, Tom Newkirk, almost assured me that he could sell my timeshare within 3 months. He stated he was that good, and that my timeshare, was very marketable. He also stated that he does most of his sales in Daytona, at the Daytona 500 and Bike week. He sells 90% of whatever timeshares he has left, at that time. He also stated that my timeshare was so good, that in the event he could not sell it by July, that he could most definitely have it rented for me, at the going rate of $1,800. My timeshare week includes the 4th of July week.
Obviously, he never sold my timeshare; ever rented my timeshare; or even kept in touch with me. I was able to contact a few times, and he gave me the old sales pitch, that he was working on some very promising leads and he thought he had several buyers.
My contract is up on June 12, 2010. I tried to contact Tom Newkirk, but his phone number was no longer in use. I tried to contact Vacation Sales & Marketing, directly with both their toll free number and direct number, and both these numbers are no longer working.
I do not know how to get in touch with these people, except I have typed up a refund request and sent it out certified to them at the only known address I have. My next step will be to contact the Georgia Attorney General's Office of Consumer Affairs, as I noticed many other people have done.
If anyone out there has any useful info that they can give me, I sure would appreciate it.

Vacation Sales Marketing & Royal Elite Timeshare Scam

I listed my timeshare with them two years ago and still have not sold my Royal Elite Timeshare despite lowering the cost. I was told my property was the 2nd lowest and still nothing. I checked my ad # on the website and nothing would come up. I called and a customer service agent stated that my ad was temporarily down. So my ad is not online? This company is a rip-off because they refuse to refund my money. If you are unable to sell my property or even have the ad running 24/7, then give me back my money!

Vacation Sales Marketing & Royal Elite Timeshare Scam

We listed our Royal Elite Timeshare with Vacation Sales Marketing last year. They said that the membership was in high demand and that it would be no problem getting it sold. I have contacted them a couple of times. They told tell me: "We will call you when we get an offer. So far, there has been no interest." The truth is, they take your money ($548.00), post an ad to their website, and you never hear from them again. It's a scam!

I filed a report with the Georgia Attorney General's Office of Consumer Affairs against Vacation Sales and Marketing. They advised me that they did have an open investigation of this company until VSAM filed an Administrative Dissolution on April 15, 2010. At the time of the dissolution, VSAM moved from Georgia to Daytona Beach, Florida. At this time, consumers can file a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (DACS) online at www.800helpfla.com or by calling 1-800-488-2221.
Florida law also provides that you can file a claim with VSAM as part of the Administrative Dissolution. You can file a claim by writing to Vacation Sales and marketing, 137-C Golden Eye Drive, Daytona Beach, Florida, 32110. I do not have a telephone number for this company, sorry. I hope this info is helpful to you people who have been scammed, like I was. I just recently got this info, so I am waiting for results. I will keep you posted if I get any more information. Good luck.
