This merchant is a total scam...rude representatives with high pressure tangled messages, routine stalling in verbal concerns, unreturned phone calls, total misrepresentation in procedure to cancell then absolute refussal to accept proper cancellation.....by offering another scam!
In March of 2008 we went to a show in Branson with paid discounted tickets in lieu of attending a "presentation " on the "chance of lifetime". We are longtime (20 years) content timeshare owners so verbally refused the "travel" opportunity initially. Representatives continued to work all kinds of plans to show how it was such a savings...we were denied the request to keep the "drawings". We were told we could use the service immediately through their office.
The next day we attempted to "inquire " a use scenario and never received a return call. We made continued attempts the next days we stayed there in Branson to inquire and possibly cancel because the "temporary" arrangements did not seem to be working....phone numbers to people that would only accept VIP # which we did not have. The front desk told us that we would need to talk to Clint Sweet, official officer to handle calcellations. We tried to contact several people in the organization after we had tried to use the service and were unable to acquire the proper passwords and links to even be able to find out how the service worked. No one ever gave advise on how to cancel just said to wait to give it a try.
We are asking for our money back not because we had or have buyer's remorse but because we were told untruths about the program and that it was totally misrepresented by all people we tried to talk to about it. This program as far as we are concerned is a fraud the way it was presented. We were told that we would receive discounts on hotels, motels, air and cruises over what we already had in our timeshare opportunity....completely NOT! They only offer stays at one motel chain (Choice) and limited air companies if even more than one?
Clint Sweet the manager in Branson stated that he could not help us out and that we should talk to the owner of VACATION SERVICES OF AMERICA (Tom Wood). Instead of trying to help us get our money back, Tom tried to offer us free trips and other items to offset our expenses and keep our membership. When I told him that we were not pleased at all with the service and described to him our problems when we had tried to use it, he only offered apologies and tried again to offer more travel. That is not what we wanted...we wanted to cancel. We felt like the services were completely misrepresented and that it's benefits were completely false.
Now after this long time another "manager" has contacted us, Dee Wroblewski, and she advised that she contact the owner Tom Wood for a partial refund and "will call back"! Right!
By this much time passing the MO law consumer protection has weakened and we are hanging in the air with a $4000 debt!! Of course, touted as a $9000 value!!!
Do not let this happen to you....this company has been named in several lawsuits and had numerous fraudlent complaints! Watch out! If there is anyone out there that would like our help or can help us, contact us in Lees Summit!!
