Vanderbuilt Mortgage Co And Clayton Mobile Homes promised 8% interest rate,Escrow,and life insurance Maryville Tennessee

My mother recently passed away and I have been working with my father to get his finances in order.To my suprise the life insurance that mom and dad thouht they had no longer exists.Well this is a hardship to my father because he is disabled(blind) and lives off of $808.00 per month.The monthly payment has went from $367.00 to $475.00 over the course of 11 years. A 40,000.00 home is going to cost him $90,000.00 after all is said and done.He wanted to finance his home thru his own bank but the salesperson from Clayton Homes indicated that would not be necessary because they could get him his 8% interest fixed.

In October of 1997 mom signed all of the papers that indicated what was discussed and the saleperson advised them they would mail the copies of the agreement to them.This agreement arrived 2/1998.Seems like a long time to get these papers.Mom and dad had no reason to look at the papers because they are old school and trust everyone at their word.

Now my father is stuck in this situation and Vanderbuilt president refuses to discuss this matter with him.When my dad called and asked about the interst rate going up he was told that they had to change it because there was no land with the purchase.This is the whole reason my dad insisted on using his bank.

Unfortunatly it has been some time since this has taken place and I don't think the law will allow a fraud case against this company.I am still wondering why he would be set up on an escrow account when he pays his own taxes in his county.Any insight on what can be done would be greatly appreciate.
