to others out there in cyber space who own clayton homes and have mortgages with vanderbuilt beaware, be very aware. when i purchased a repoed clayton home, i was asked about insurance. i already had insurance with a private good insurance company. i was told that i would have to pay up front for the 1 st year's insurance coverage, which i already knew, but then vaderbuilt was going to raise my monthly payment to escrow in my next year's insurance fee. i felt i was having to basicly pay for 2 years of insurance. i was told i could go ahead and go with the way the mortgage company had me financed with a 5 year insurance coverage in my loan. well, at the time i couldn't afford the extra money a month so i had to take their insurance. i basicly felt i was being forced by vanderbuilt to take their insurance!!!! well, their insurance sucks!! it doesn't cover as much as the outside, private insurance does. my husband and i just hope nothing happens to our home until their insurance is finished and we can get our own insurance again. but when we do, vanderbuilt is going to raise our payment then. i don't think this is fair and good business. i always thought it was a person's right to pick their own insurance company. i feel vanderbuilt shouldn't have the right to escrow money for our insurance fee!! we have never, ever not had home owner's insurance, that would be irresponsible.

i also feel behind one month on a payment. when that happened, i began receiving harressing phone calls from their customer service dept. when i would try to make arrangements they were never very agreeable and didn't want to work with me!! i've never heard of a company who doesn't have deffarments!! is this true?? this is what i've been told about their company!! i've had car and other home mortgages and always had defferments available if they were needed. but they now even though i am one payment behind are threatening to foreclose on my home. is this possible? or are they just threatening me? please, if someone out there knows about this let me know please!! any suggestions by anyone on how to better get along with these people would be very appreciated!! they call me so much, they ran all of my minutes off my cell phone and now i don't have one!! sometimes they just call and call and call and never leave a message!! Why? i can go to walmart make a payment and by the time i get home they've called me again!! it's down right ridiculous!! HELP, PLEASE!!!
