I check on a website for a job for the summer because I got out of high school. I found out Vector is hiring and they say I will work for part-time and get paid $18 a hour. I gave them a call for an interview and they arranged a date. When I told my friend to go to work there. One of them say it was a scam and he told that Vector say you will have to but a CUTCO Cutlery knife that are over a hundred dollar. You have to go around selling these knife and it is impossible to sell these expensive knives. I didn't bother going to the interview.

It's way to good to be true

AUTHOR: Aaron - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, January 28, 2012

Like every one has said, Vector is just a big punch in the pants. They promise so much and give so little. My office was/is in Mesa Arizona, and they promised $16/per appointment. My manager was Caitlin Mills, biggest liar of the whole office. She would put so much pressure to sell over 1k a weekend, which is virtually impossible for a full time music major like myself. This job is terrible unless you love to feed off of making people feel insecure about what they have, or just being a door-to-door salesman (it's the same type of sales pitch they teach you anyway). Everything they teach you has flaws in it, once you pass training (don't get that far) all the promises disappear and you are now part of a knife selling cult that only cares about making money from families that can barely afford anything.

Cutco SUCKS! STOP...That is it..no other things need to be said...not ..the company needs to make money..not one person made money...NOT anything! They take advantage of young people! PERIOD! CUTOCO...Vecto Marketing sucks! That is it...Period..nothing else needs to be said...

I hate companies that take advantage of people...I hate it...i hate it...They do...That is all they do..

FACT: They make their money by hiring people all the time..and get them to buy a "KIT" - that is how they make their money...once and a while..someone will make some sales..but that is once and a while....If i hired 30 people a week and got them all to buy a kit..and who cares... they sell one or two more before they quit..who cares..I made some cash!

I hate ALL companies like this! I hate you cutco..

your friend Brian

Know your facts mike

Cutco is a rip off. yes they are pretty good knives but stop reading off the presentation pamphlet mike. i worked for cutco for a year as well and they treat there employees like dirt. they dont pay you for their 2 days of training and mislead you about there so called hourly wage which is actually per appt. Vector which is the company that markets Cutco has been sued in several states for misrepresentation of material and false advertisment of there job positions. look it up. you do some research. Also a set of quality henckles in a dept store is more like 800-900 dollars. They only say that they cost 1600 because people like you dont do there homework. The whole rope cutting trick is pretty stupid to. Of course the cutco knives are going to cut the rope. The knives that they do the demo with in the store have been sitting there for years and have never been sharpened. Case in point i did a presentation for a couple and when it came time to do the rope cutting there knife cut just as well as the cutco knife. Now i will give them credit on there warranty they have the best deal around.

depends on the person to some extent

AUTHOR: Mks - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Hey there,

I actually worked for Vector from november 2004 to june 2005, part time.

I made 29 sales in 40 tries. So, my sales rate was 72.5%. I think the thing everyone has to keep in mind, especially in sales is this...not everyone is going to succeed. The person has to have the right mind set (positive), be outgoing, etc. There are different characteristics that help in sales. So, just because one person couldn't do it, doesn't mean others can't as well.

Plus, the knives were actually pretty cheap. For instance, if you bought the same henkels set (which was the leading brand in stores), you would pay around $1600. The same set with Cutco would cost around $800.

Besides that though, Cutco knives are really better than ANYTHING else. My parents have owned their set for over 30 years and they are still sharp! Plus, if they ever break, you can get the same knife sent to you for free, even after using that knife for 30 or 40 years! In other words, once you buy a set, if they break, etc, you can get them replaced for free! What other knife company does that?

Plus, regarding the quality of the knives, if you've ever done or seen a cutco demonstration, you'll find that the knives really are much better than anything else out there. How do I know? Well, because at one point in the presentation, you cut a rope with a cutco knife and then you cut the same rope with the non-cutco knife (whatever brand it may be). The cutco knife cuts it in literally one swipe, whereas other knives will take 3 to 50 swipes to cut it and ususally, it was more than 10 or so. In other words, the cutting of the rope was to show that if you have a hard vegetable or something else that is hard to cut, the cutco knife will EASILY be able to cut through it, and it is able to cut through it!

Anyway, know what you say before you make claims about a company, as honestly, cutco knives truly are quite good.

Respectfully,

California
