Veranda Senior Apartments Forged signatures and leases; do not return deposits to Senior Citizens Homestead Florida

I wish to register a complaint against the management of this facility. I had applied for an apartment even before the completion of the apartments; at the end of June 2012, I was called offering me the apartment. At that time I paid a $500.00 deposit plus the monthly rent; I was specifically told by the then manager (a black lady who spoke Spanish) that the lease would be for one year and afterwards the lease would go on a monthly basis. 

When the lease year was up, the management had changed; I was informed by the present manager that I had been randomly selected to go through another audit to see if I qualified to be a resident, (this seemed odd to me, specially when I had a perfect paying record).  I submitted all the required documents and waited for the results.  I was never officially notified, nor I heard anything; a couple of months later I asked and the manager told me everything was ok. 

I recently bought a double wide trailer and decided to move, since I was going by the word of the former manager, and even the actual manager told me I had to have a walk through inspection to determine if I would get my deposit back.  The day I turned in the keys, the apartment was clean and it passed inspection with the maintenance person; that is when I was told by the manager that I was breaking the lease and that I would not be getting my deposit back.  When I asked what did she based her allegation on?  She showed me a lease where I supposedly chose that option. I did not remember signing that particular lease, so I asked her to show me the signature; that is when I noticed the signature was forged.  In other words the second lease, the so called audit, the never notifying me of the results seems to be a major blunder or scam.

I cannot believe this company makes it a practice to illegally retain monies from senior citizens that live on fixed budgets.  I expect to get my deposit back ASAP or I will go public with this complaint and expose the fraudulent practices that are going on in this company.  I already saw major complaints filed against the company in the Internet; I will do likewise, plus I will use every avenue at my disposal to expose the abuse being perpetrated by your company against senior citizens.  I expect to hear from you soon to resolve this matter.
