Verizon must be owned and operated by complete idiots.
Since October 4, 2002 when I initially ordered Verizons DSL service I have learned that circus monkeys would stand to run a business better.
Since, October 4, 2002 I have called approximately 25 times and still I have no service or even a real attempt to establish service.
The only time Verizon actually almost did something right, (like having my service work for 2 days) they still got it wrong. They took it upon themselves (after waiting 25 days) and decided, for no reason to cancel the service. After days of troubleshooting the connection I finally called the helpless desk to be informed that they cancelled the order. They were not sure why they cancelled the service, and informed me that they could start a new account. They promised to have the service active no later than December 4, 2002 (30 days later).
When asked why they are treating me like a new customer even though they were the idiots at fault they said that their department doesnt do new accounts.
Then Dec. 4, 2002 (after 2 months) they rudely told me that they still had until 12:01 a.m. and put me off again. So, the next time I call they inform me that I do not have the correct modem and assure me that when the new one arrives it will work for sure. Why didnt anyone send the correct equipment during the month I ridiculously had to wait?
When the new modem arrives the line is still not active and a technician works to correct the problem. During the call I see the modem start to react but he was not able to completely establish the service. Why was the service to the phone still not active on December 15, 2002? Now they inform me that they will have to send a technician to the residence and that he will be here in 4 days. So today finally arrives and a technician calls at 10:00 a.m. to inform me that he will arrive in approximately 5 minutes. After 7 hours go by I call to see why the technicians concept of time is as bad as the rest of the company. They then inform me that the technician went to the wrong address (I figure it must have been a nude bar or something because he never called or even figured out that he was in the wrong place for the remaining 7 hours of his work day).
At this point I have spent hours and hours on hold, missed work to meet their village idiots, had no service, and zero sympathy or even a good answer to any or all of there completely incompetent actions. They wont even give me a complaint number. Im shocked that they still are even a business operating anywhere outside of possibly a third world country at best. Most companies are eager to keep customers happy and do whatever they can to compensate for their short-comings. However, Verizon has taken complete advantage of their position in the utility world and basically tells their customers they could careless about anything they provide. I guarantee that they would not have the slightest breakdown between billing and the service department disconnecting service. I would not put it past them that my initial free service has already expired and next month Im billed.
The only other high speed access is Adelphia and currently Adelphia is in litigation with those Verizon freaks! So once again Verizon has figured out how to screw up things. The account of events is only some of the highlights I have encountered with those morons.
I believe that if the government allows complete idiots rights to a government granted monopoly than the government must be just as stupid. Any advice or resolution is appreciated.
