I canceled all of Verizon products in my home early September 2007 including phone and internet which always appeared on the same bill. After canceling all services, I received a bill stating that I have a credit balance of $30.35 and a collection notice for $39.63. After contacting Verizon, I was told that all of a sudden they were separated in to 2 separate accounts with one having a credit balance and the other having a balance due. I was told that I have to contact the collection agency and pay in full or it will be reported to the credit bureaus. I went ahead and paid the collection and contacted Verizon to get me credit refunded. Verizon has owed me money since September 2007 and I have already called them for a refund 4 times every time on hold for 30-40 minutes and being hung up on numerous times. It is nearly 6 months since I have been owed this money. When I owed a balance to Verizon for less than 2 weeks Verizon sends the account to collection. It was this disgusting service which made me switch to the cable company in the first place. So far no issues with the Cable company, never waited on hold for more than 5 minutes and always had any issue corrected with in minutes. Verizon is a disgusting scamming company. STAY AWAY
