Verizon wireless John Le Pera Internet, South Carolina

Can you tell me if Verizon works in Europe. We where there for three months and are phone did not work. We did all the things they told us to do but no luck. We went to Six phone stores in Paris and Rome no luck. When we purchased the Galaxy 3 Samsung. Verizon told us it would work in Europe it never worked. Seems that all the store wanted to sell you something and thing, and not to fix the phone. We just got back to U.S . So I tried to get help from the Verizon store they rushed me like I was going to buy something but when I told them I was there to complain they run like bugs when the lights go on. In all the stores we went in to only one in Paris said that the phone will not work in Europe.he said Verizon doze not have there systems setup yet.He said if I was with any other provider I would be ok. Is This true                          Ripped off and MAD.
