We purchased a timeshare from Vida Vacation club or Grupo Mayan (their website was under grupo mayan before but now it says vida vacation club.) We purchased because we were promised that we would be able to sell another timeshare we owned to pay for this one.  They did a great job and gave us a million reasons why it was going to sell.  It has been much longer than the times they have quoted and we now realize this is never going to sell.  We have contacted them but have basically been told to bad you signed a contract.  There are many more problems with this and we are looking for help to fix the problems.

Mayan Palace Timeshare Scam

AUTHOR: janie78j - ()

Definitely Mayan resorts are a group of thieves, there are hundreds of cases of swindles. This hotel chain hasn't improved in scams. We went there and were badgered for 3 HOURS to do the extra freebies for just a timeshare talk. The sales pitch is definitely very high pressure, but we were very hard: No, no and no. We were not interested. I recommend you all to read this article from Mexican Timeshare Solutions about Mayan Palace and their timeshare scams:
