Vida Vacation Club has representative all over Cancun waiting to pounce on unsuspecting tourists. In our case, she was in the Thrifty Car Rental office. When the Thrifty woman jacked our car rental rates to an unacceptable level, she stepped in to offer vouchers to reduce the rate to a more acceptable level. All we would have to do is sit through a no-obligation sales pitch for a time share which would only take 90 minutes. We ahd to give her $40USD earnest money which we would get back after the presentation along with the Thrifty vouchers.
The actual presentation was about 4 hours of tormenting hard sell, after which I had to almost get physical to end the sell and get my $40 and vouchers. At this time, the Vida representative got very unfiendly and insulting, suggesting that we live in a cardboard box, a tent or under a rock if we didn't like his place. We finally got our money and vouchers, but couldn't find any immediate transportation back to our rental car so we had to walk about 1/2 mile in the rain.
Because of this fiasco, I don't want to ever even see the name Vida again and probably will never visit Mexico again.
