My wife and I thought we were getting a great deal on a computer system through the Video Computer Store in Pipersville, PA. BOY, WERE WE WRONG!!! We placed an order for the system on June 25, 2000. After about 2 weeks we received the monitor by UPS, no problem. Approximately, 2 weeks later on August 1, 2000, we received the CPU, digital camera, speakers, etc. through FedEx. However, this was the only thing that has gone right since. After numerous calls to their "non-existent" customer service department we still have no idea of when the Canon printer and scanner will be shipped. They blame the manufacturer, Canon, for not shipping the order. My argument is that THEY charged my credit card on June 28th for the entire system, including a Canon printer and scanner, and THEY are responsible. Last week they offered me $240 credit for the printer and scanner. I did some research and found that $240 would not touch the actual cost of purchasing the same printer and scanner elsewhere. Plus, I would lose the $80 in rebates promised by the VC Store. Thank goodness I found this web site, and discovered the horror stories surrounding the VC Store. Fortunately, we were still within our 30-day money back period. We boxed the ?!@% thing up and sent it back. Even after all the problems we have had, they still had the nerve to make us pay for the shipping and insurance to return the computer. The Video Computer Store should be renamed the VIDEO COMPUTER SHAM. Once the sale is made, you cannot reach anyone in Customer Service or Technical assistance on the phone or through E-Mail. If you are considering purchasing a computer system please buy one somewhere else.
