Well the saga continues. I signed up for the windows tutorial from a promotion I received in my email. The package arrived about a week later and I put it aside unopened, to use at a later date. To my suprise, I got another tutorial for the internet a couple of weeks later. Again, I placed it, unopened, with other disc to review at a later time. At this time, a little voice was telling me something wasn't right.

Got my credit card statement yesterday, lo and behold, there was a charge for $69.95 from you know who. Did a search on google and found this site (thank god).

Called the customer service #, and spoke to Jeanette S.. Told her I did not appreciate their deceptive and misleading practices. She said that they clearly state how you have ten days to review the material, and keep one of the three disc sent for just the S&H charge of $6.95. Bull Dookie!!!

I proceeded to tell her about the reports on this site, and told her I would give VP inc. the chance to do the right thing, and I would be sending back the unopened packages via certified mail. I told her that if they did not credit me back that I would post reports on this site, contact the FTC, call my credit card co. to dipute charges, and generally make their miserable lives more...well, miserable.

She finally got tired of listening to me, and gave me instructions on how to send the discs back, and issued two RA #'s to put on the outside of the returned envelope. She said once they received the returned disc, that it would take 10 - 14 days to credit back the charges.

I'm so glad I put this on my credit card. I called the CSR at Capital One and explained the situation to him. He said that they get a lot of calls concerning this company, big suprise, and if I did not receive credit back after 30 days, to call him back and they would reverse the charges. Needless to say, this made me feel much better about my chances with this stink'n heap o' s#%t of a company, that resorts to these tactics to make a buck.

Look for my next post in about two weeks, as I will update you as to whether they issue the credit or not.

I LIKE MANY OTHERS, I FELL FOR THE VIDEO PREFESSOR SCAM. BEFORE I HAD EVEN RECIEVED THE CD PKG, MY ACCT WAS DEBITED $6.95 AND THEN $69.95.ONCE I RECIEVED THE CDS AND REALIZED THEY WERE NOT MINE TO KEEP SIMPLY FOR A $6.95 S&H CHARGE,((BY READING SMALL PRINT THAT WAS ENCLOSED ON THE MAILER)) I IMMEDIATLEY CALLED THEM TO GET A RETURN AUTH. #. WITH THAT I RETURNED MY CDS AND CALLED 10 DAYS LATER TO MAKE SURE THEY RECIEVED IT WHEN LO AND BEHOLD WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THEIR CUST. SERVICE, MY HUSBAND WAS CHECKING THE MAIL AND HANDED ME YET ANOTHER CD PKG. I EXPLAINED TO THE REP THAT NOW I NEEDED ANOTHER RETURN AUTH # AND I WOULD HAVE TO SHELL OUT MORE RETURN SHIPING AND WHY HADNT MY ACCT. BEEN CANCELLED AND MY $ REFUNDED LIKE THEY HAD PROMISED ME 10 DAYS EARLIER? ALL I GOT WAS AN "IM SORRY YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE RECIEVED ANY ADDTL CDS AND YOUR ACCT WILL BE CREDITED $69.95 BK IN 10 DAYS". WELL HERE IT IS 14 DAYS LATER AND NOTHING. I DONT KNOW WHO TO TURN TO BUT I WONT GIVE UP UNTIL I SPOIL THEIR NAME AND GET MY $ BACK

Finally got the credit!!!

9/27/04 - Finally,they came through with the refund on 9/24/04. I think if you are very persistant with these people they will refund your monies, but its about as easy as passing a bill thru congress. My opinion is that they are very deceptive and make the majority of their money off people who don't try to fight back.

As promised, I am keeping a running account, for anyone who is interested. Back on 9/13/04 spoke to a Tina and informed her that I had still not received credit back for the returned disc's. She said that it would take 10 to 15 business days from the time they receive them. I sent them back registered mail and the US postal service shows that S. Eccher signed for them on 8/27/04 at 11:25am. I told her that I would wait until 15 business days and if I had not received the credit, I would file a report with ripoff.com, and also send a report to the FTC, and to local news stations in the Boulder area. She said that she would do what she could to expidite the refund. On 9/20/04 spoke to a Norma at VP. Told her of the ongoing ordeal with them, and she asked for my CC info as she could not find anything on me in the computer. I refused to give my CC #, but after some digging she found my info (imagine that). She stated that no supervisors had been made aware of the situation yet, so she put it to the attention of a Monique, who I assume is some sort of supervisor there. Well supposedly now since that has been done, in 72 hours I will finally get my refund (early Friday). So look for my next update after Friday.
