I'm a college student and having financial diffculties. This lady by the name of Julie Olsen and rude. She constantly calls constantly at work and I would try and dodge her calls but then she would call me on my home phone. There was one time she had called and I hung up on her and she called back again saying its rude to hang up the phone on me.

Now she tried to get my mother's work number so she can talk to her and I said no she won't accept that. This company is unbelievable and it's a never ending story

A response to your whining

AUTHOR: Boognation - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 02, 2008

First let me say I am a employee at Viking collections in AZ and I want to respond to all these reports these whiners have wrote on here. First of all anytime you get information look at the source its coming from. In this case these people are all losers that are in collections and whining cause they didn't like how the bill collector treated them. Well here's an idea Einstein...pay your bills when your suppose to and you wont have to deal with bill collectors. Before an account even gets to our office you have to ignore the original creditor for 6months without any kind of payment. So for everyone on here with the "oh poor me" attitude get over it and maybe own up to your responsibilities and then you wont ever be in collections. Also were not customer service...you had your chance with customer service and you blew them off for 6 months so we don't need to kiss your a*s and rub your belly so your happy with the call. Your a loser and sometimes you need to be reminded of that. And don't blame the economy for you defaulted on your loan or credit card because were all in the same economy but there are still people that are responsible and pay their bills like they agreed to. If you don't make enough money then get a second job. Maybe if you took the time you sat on your a*s and cried about how bad life is and got another job you wouldn't be so broke. I live in the same economy as you all and i still pay every single won of my bills. Now why can I do it and you cant? Cause I'm not a loser and I own up to what I agreed to and if it came to where I couldn't support my family I would do something about it instead of getting on a website and complaining. So in conclusion if you don't want to deal with a bill collector then pay your bills..if you cant pay your bills then do something about that situation. But there are always going to be you whiners that would rather get on a website and cry so everyone knows your not happy about how you were treated. Well my advice to you is this...if you feel like we treated you like a loser that's because we think your a loser and we treat all you accordingly. So go find a really high building and go skydiving but leave the parachute behind. Oh and one more thing for you people who want to say were the losers cause we do collections and we must not make very much money. I make a whole bunch of money so don't worry about that. Actually it would make you sick how much we make cause the world is full of belly rubbing whining babies and the job security is wonderful. And your the one getting collection calls cause you cant pay your bills. I can pay mine..so who is the loser here? Yes that's correct its you.

Dealt with same person (Julie Olson)! Very nice!

AUTHOR: Isabella - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 03, 2006

Hi there! I just happened to come across this report, and wanted to say that I have also recently dealt with Julie Olson from Viking Collection Services. She was very pleasant and respectful--but, of course, wanted to get her job done! Remember, collections agents are NOT telemarketers... They aren't calling people out of the blue and trying to sell them things. They are trying to collect money that customers WILLINGLY borrowed, never paid back, and now have outstanding bills!

When looking at it from a collector's perspective, I understand that it must be frustrating to constantly chase after people who have unpaid debts. And if you behave like a child, they're bound to treat you like one... For instance, avoiding Julie's calls or hanging up on her (as the person who filed this complaint did) is not the way an adult should solve the problem! Admittedly, I, too, tried this technique at first, but as soon as I decided to begin being honest (which was: I didn't have the money to pay at the time), Julie was very kind and helped me come up with a plan of action to pay off my debt. She never demanded the total sum all at once... She asked me what I could manage at the time, and helped me design a pay plan that was affordable and reasonable for both of us.

I just want others to know that Julie was a pleasure to deal with (as much as someone trying to get money from you could be!), and truly helped me pay off my debt. I understand it can be hard, but try treating the debt collector the way you'd treat any other person, and they will more than likely be nice & polite in return!
