I worked for this company back last year. When i was there i was a top seller and i regret this for i was forced to lie to people to sell them magazines. In my contract when i first agreed to work fot the company it stated that if we got a ticket from the police for soliciting without a permit (because vinny never got permits for the cities that we worked) then the company would pay for the ticket. Well this was a lie while i was selling in university park texas and recieved a ticket for soliciting without a permit for a total of $374.00 i was assured that this was paid off. Only when i quit the company i got a letter stating there was a warrant for my arrest for unpaid fines.
I tried to contact Vinny about it and he told me he was broke and hung up on me. While you worked for the company they kept the money you earned on what they call your "books" when i left i was owed almost $600. [continued below]....

They did the same thing to me! Left me with a $700 fine to pay in Texas for soliciting and not appearing in court. I now have a warrant there! I called I even mailed a copy of the letter I recieved from the court along with a letter stating that he said this would be taken care of, so take care of it. But I got NO responce of course. And the IRS got me too because of this business! They say I made way more than I know I did but I dont have any proof. I threw all that crap away. I was young and stupid and didnt comprehend the after affect of the business. I now owe the IRS about... $10,000!!! Luckily I'm on a payment plan but I'm going to be paying them for years. It's ridiculaus and I also don't know what to do. I wish I was smart and kept a copy of the contract, and my pay forms and all of my receipts...
TIP for anyone in the mag business right now... SAVE SAVE SAVE all your receipts, and Paystubs (or whatever they are) and get a copy of that contract you sign! you may need it one day. I sure do.
