I tried the product only to find that it made me really ill, so I called the number on the invoice that I received and also noticed that I was overcharged about $30 (I contacted my credit card company & they took care of it); I spoke with a representative of Visalus to find out that the person I purchased the product from was actually an "independent promoter" and had absolutely no affiliation with Visalus. They advised me to contact the independent promoter for a refund.
So I looked online to find the promoters contact information, it states on their website;

In order to return merchandise or be refunded for an order you must request for an RMA number via email by contacting: [promoter e-mail] using the subject "RMA"We will not refund or accept return packages unless you have requested for an RMA number in advance.
So I sent off an e-mail on the 18th of December requesting an "RMA" number, waited a few days and than followed up. This continued on for a few days until I sent an e-mail the promoter cc'ing the Visalus company. The promoter replied only to provide me with the number to the actual Visalus company.... Visalus e-mailed me advising to contact them. Which I did, only to be advised the exact same thing they advised in the beginning. I continued to send e-mails every day, until one day they bounced back to me.
I found them on Facebook and posted on their timeline about my issue with them; this was in beginning of January, and not surprisingly my comment was deleted and I was blocked from posting on their page. I also sent a few Facebook messages with no responses, yet they have constant time to update their page.
I called the number on their website a few times, left multiple messages and even sent a fax. Yet, still no response.
At this point it's not about the money, it's more about the principle that this sketchy "promoter" is ripping people off by not only overcharging, but also refusing to abide by their "money back guarantee." It really disappoints me about my extremely bad experience with this promoter because to me it looks bad on the Visalus company.
