This site will rip you off!!!  Do not purchase tickets from them.  I got tickets to a baseball game, arrived an hour into the game to pick them up at willcall and they were not there.  Willcall said the seats we purchased had not even been sold!  And yet my credit card was charged for them.  When I called to get my money back the representative refused a refund and hung up on me!!!  Unbelieveable!  I am so mad that I literally just gave my money away to these assholes.  To go all the way to the game and the tickets are not there and they won't even refund me???  VIVID SEATS IS A SCAM WEBSITE!!!!

Vivid provided excellent service

AUTHOR: rr44 - ()

I purchased concert tickets to be downloaded online. With the concert coming up fast I realized, very late, that I had not seen them. I paid through paypal (for person who'd cc was compromised...eh...) and sent Vivid Customer Support an email and called the next day (today). The response was quick and helpful - I had provided a now-defunct email address. Both phone and email response were immediate (it's Sunday). Tickets are now in my hands.

So I WILL use them again with pleasure.

Not sure who's to fault here

AUTHOR: jackstraw - (United States of America)

From Vivid's response it seems they sent the OP an e-mail that had the tickets attached.  It may be that OP took the e-mail to the game instead of opening the attachment and printing the tickets.  I've ordered many tickets in the past where I had to do this.  I've never heard of taking an e-mail with the confirmation # to the event.  The confirmation # is just a reference number from the company.  It's hard to tell if this is what happened.  I've ordered from Vivid several times in the past and I've never had a problem.

Glad I read this

AUTHOR: pabloaguado - (United States of America)

I was about to buy tickets to a sold out event with this comapny but I'm glad I read this first.

Their website actually states the following..."100% Guaranteed to be Delivered Before the Event". So unless they just updated that and it was not the case before, they totally scammed the customer who made the complaint. I understand people buy last minute but if you GUARANTEE to be delivered BEFORE THE EVENT, then you have to stand by that amazing promise. I'm sure they charge a premium for this but a guarantee should be a guarantee.

#5 Consumer Suggestion

Wow.

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

"Will Call said the seats we purchased had not even been sold!"

"He refused to refund my money even though they have a "100% customer satisfaction or complete
refund policy" unless I rescinded my original report on this site."

Well, duh.  You gave him 500 bucks, or whatever it was, and he gave you nothing. in fact, according to you, he never even had it to give in the first place!  Right now, he's 500 bucks, or whatever, ahead.  If he refunds your money, then he'll be back to square one.  Why would a con artist like this guy give back money after he stole it?

ON THE TERMS PAGE OF THE WEB SITE, it says "All orders are subject to ticket availability. Vivid Seats agrees to use its best efforts to procure and to deliver, prior to the date of the event, the tickets described."

THAT #&$^#%$ SAYS, IN ENGLISH "we don't actually HAVE what you want to buy,
but if you pay us for it, we'll use our best efforts to get it for you."  Apparently, according to the OP, the "best efforts" used by Vivid seats didn't really include actually BUYING the seats they were selling.

"Why are they so threatened by me??"

Because you are trying to take food out of their mouth.  If somebody else is looking for tickets, finds
Vivd seats, and decides to check them out before giving up a credit card number, they may run across this post, which will hopefully deter them from handing over their money.  If *YOU* were a con artist, and I was standing between you and a sucker that you were trying to get money from, telling them not to hand their money over because they won't get anything for it, then you would feel threatened by me.

That's why.

"Because I decided to tell my story I'm waking up to threatening phone calls!""
"I just don't want to be harrassed by these people anymore."

So, harass him back!

His name and home phone number is
Jerry R Bednyak
(847) 634-2651

Better do it quick though.  Once a con artist finds out that people are able to find them, instead of being an anonymous ripoff on the internet, they tend to quickly change phone numbers so they can go back into hiding.

"He said I had made a "liability threat"."

I can't admit to being on the phone at the time, so I don't know what the guy said, but I'm sure the guy MEANT to say that you made a "Libel threat".  Unfortunately for him, Libel can only be Libel if it is false.  Like, if I told you to sue the guy for ripping you off, and told you that you could serve the lawsuit at his house, at

Jerry R Bednyak
1234 Main Street
San Diego, CA 92131

then he could sue me for Libel, because that is false.  But if I told you that you could serve
the lawsuit at his house, at

Jerry R Bednyak
2767 Sandalwood Rd
Buffalo Grove, IL 60089

Then he could NOT sue me for Libel, because that is true.  Well, he COULD sue me, but he couldn't win.

"Just got off the phone with the owner of Vivid Seats.  This guy threatened to sue me with "all he's got"  if I did not take these comments off of this site----"

Yeah.  You're telling people to NOT give this guy money.  If I made a living from ripping people off,
I would make the same threats.

"It would be our sincerest pleasure to be able to demonstrate the advantage and professionalism
of our brand..."

You sold tickets that you did not have, and did not get.  What, exactly, is the advantage of your brand (BESIDES lining the pockets of the people who can get money from your merchant account)?

"...as well as our commitment to providing an industry-leading service."

If selling things that you DO NOT have, in exchange for money that buyers DO have, is "an
industry-leading service", than I can only hope that the industry, and you, and all
of the people involved in it, die a rapid death.

"By placing the order through our website, the customer had to indicate
that they agreed to our sales terms and conditions. http://www.vividseats.com/terms.html."

And don't forget boys and girls, those terms and conditions specifically say, we don't have
what we are trying to get you to pay for.  BUT THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THE SIGN OF A SCAM!!!!

Damn, got sarcasm dripping off my fingers.  Let me go wipe it off.

"We wish that we had been contacted before the event so that we could have helped the customer
retrieve their tickets from their email"

How exactly were you going to help retrieve tickets that were never sold?

"At the heart of the misunderstanding is the fact that these tickets would not have been held at will call, as the customer believed, simply because this was not the indicated delivery method."

What the f*** was the indicated delivery method for tickets that nobody bought?  Telepathy?

The way *I* read it is that the heart of the misunderstanding was that you sold something
you didn't have, and wouldn't get, because getting it would have cost you money, and that would have reduced your profit margin from 100% to something less than 100%.

"We are very sorry for the inconveniences which have arisen from this situation; to reflect this, we
have issued a full refund"

So, you are claiming to have issued a full refund, which means that the Buyer ended up paying no money, and the Seller delivered nothing in exchange.  Well, good.  If it's true.  I doubt it.

"and are offering a code valued at four times the amount of the original order towards the purchase
of a set of tickets to another event."

The buyer gave money, and you delivered nothing.  Let me grab a shovel and dig deep into
my brain, back to elementary school math class.  Isn't four times nothing still NOTHING?!?!?!?!

Wow, that's mighty white of you.  Why don't you reply with this code so that everybody who reads this post can go to your web site and get nothing too!

Let me go grab a towel.  I am literally dripping with sarcasm.

"We wish to make it clear that we are not a scam or a ripoff, we are a team of service
representatives dedicated to ensuring the delivery of hard-to-find"

Yeah.  They definitely WOULD be hard-to-find, since they were never sold to anyone!

I've just crapped my pants.  In the course of clicking around, finding out information so I
don't post anything false here, I found out that I have more land than this guy, and a better house
than this guy, yet, his property tax bill for this year is slightly more than ELEVEN TIMES bigger than mine!  To be exact, $15,596.31.

It's no wonder people in Chicago have to rip people off!  A minimum-wage job, after taxes, wouldn't be enough to pay that property-tax bill.  Hell, a minimum-wage job BEFORE taxes wouldn't be enough to pay that bill.

Damn, I knew Chicago was nothing but corrupt SOB's, but I had no idea it was THAT bad!

Response

AUTHOR: Vivid Seats - (United States of America)

It would be our sincerest pleasure to be able to demonstrate the advantage and professionalism of our brand as well as our commitment to providing an industry-leading service. As our customer had indicated, they ordered tickets to a San Francisco Giants game through our website.By placing the order through our website, the customer had to indicate
that they agreed to our sales terms and conditions. http://www.vividseats.com/terms.html.

These terms establish the fact that all sales are final and that it is the customers responsibility to notify us if they do not receive their tickets within 48 hours of the event. We wish that we had been contacted before the event so that we could have helped the customer retrieve their tickets from their email since the order specified that the tickets were to be delivered in this manner.

At the heart of the misunderstanding is the fact that these tickets would not have been held at will call, as the customer believed, simply because this was not the indicated delivery method.  We immensely regret this misunderstanding as it has led to the escalation of this matter to its present level.  We are very sorry for the inconveniences which have arisen from this situation; to reflect this, we have issued a full refund and are offering a code valued at four times the amount of the
original order towards the purchase of a set of tickets to another event. We wish to make it clear that we are not a scam or a ripoff, we are a team of service representatives dedicated to ensuring the delivery of hard-to-find and sold-out tickets for events nationwide.

And the story continues....

AUTHOR: Jackie - (United States of America)

Just got off the phone with the owner of Vivid Seats.  This guy threatened to sue me with "all he's got" if I did not take these comments off of this site----  something I couldn't do if I wanted FYI, this site does not remove posts.  He threatened me telling me I was trying to "extort" the company because I had requested box seats as compensation for all of the hassle and harassment I have taken from them.  My last conversations with the company simply requested my money back, which still has not happened.  By not delivering the service I paid for they embarrassed me in front of business clients and therefor threatened my livelihood in addition to everything else.  All I want is my money back, that's all I wanted from the beginning.  For a company that boasts "100% Satisfaction" this is absurd.  I cannot believe they did not just apologize and give me my money back.  I would have never even posted to this site if they had just given me my money back, instead it just looks like the scam I suspect it is.  Why are they so threatened by me??  How about you don't make people feel like you're ripping them off, then they won't post negative feedback!?!?Because I decided to tell my story I'm waking up to threatening phone calls!  This is plain old first amendment rights.  This is my opinion, my experience, my story.  I am no authority on anything.  Potential customers can choose to use this site based on ALL of the feedback online negative or positive.  I have not posted anything untruthful.  I don't even care about getting my money back at this point (which maybe that's their tactic, I don't know) I just want don't want to be harrassed by these people anymore.

Vivid Seats website are Truely a bunch of Scam ARTISTs update

AUTHOR: Jackie - (United States of America)

Today the service customer rep. Rob called me back in the AM.  He refused to refund my money even though they have a "100% customer satisfaction or complete refund policy" unless I rescinded my original report on this site.  He said I had made a "liability threat".  I told him I had only told the truth. Rob said, "they will only meet my request if I rescind my comments made here within 24 hours then afterwards would take the charges off."  I stated I would not do that first unless they refunded my money, provided me with 6 box seats to an at home Giants game( since I was meeting potential clients at the game and they now were angry at my not showing up), wrote a letter of apology from the president of Vividseats company to share with my clients, and refunded the cost of my round trip taxi ride to and from the ball park.  They once again repeated that it was their policy to send email delivery per my request.  I did requested email delivery and had received a confirmation number.   This information I showed to LaMarcus( the  helpful young man at the AT&T Giants ball park will call window).  LaMarcus had me hold up my Iphone to the window with the email and confirmation number.  He said the seats were never available to begin with nor had he ever dealt with that site previously.  He assured me most likely if I called the phone number on the email the company states in the email they would refund my money.  I tried LaMarcus' suggestion and called while standing at his will call window but the offices were closed.  My daughter and I got home then she wrote an email to Vivid seats explaining the problem and leaving our phone number.  By 4:45pm on Thur. 5/12/2011 (the next day) Vivid Seats rep had not called back I called them.  I spoke to Matt who said he could not refund my money and accused me of not using the email at the ball park.  He also stated you couldn't get tickets by showing your email on your Iphone with the confirmation number.  I told him I've done it many times with the new apps and so have my sons.

Rob said he had to speak to his director : Eric (again he refused to give me his last name also), and would call back.  When Rob called back he said they were recording the conversation at which I stated, "good please do".  Rob then just repeated the above threat. "they will only meet my request if I rescind my comments made here within 24 hours then afterwards would take the charges off."  I have spent now four and a half hours today again on this same issue.  I had to call my credit card through Bank of America and report it as a disputed charge.  The helpful customer rep at BOA agreed after checking the Vivid Seats website that I was right and they would investigate.  I just do not want anyone else to get ripped off by these scamm artists.  Good Luck I will Never do business with them.  I am now reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and writing editorials to the Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, and New York Times after I get some of my to do list done.
