URGENT - Vivint Security, is the new name for CastleRock Security & APX Alarm Services - SAI Security.
This group had to change it's name, because the entire first page of Google was filled in with complaints from Rip Off Reports and Complaint Boards. Google, it for yourself and you will see why CastleRock Security had to change it's name to Vivint Security.
Its a shame that weve become a country of people hiding behind contracts and technicalities. We seem to have forgotten the human aspect and what is honorable and decent. Only hours ago I hung up the phone, crying, because yet again this company refused to cancel my contract for another year.
We tried for years to cancel because our alarm never worked and they would never call us back OR told us they didnt have a service person in our area. (We lived in LAcome on!) Then last summer, with still a year left, we had to lease our house due to these lovely economic times, and move in with my parents.
Our economic situation, if you can believe it, has gotten significantly worse since then. We struggle to put food on the table. A few months ago, I called to find out what I needed to do to cancel. Per our conversation, I made myself a note to call back in May. Apparently, I didnt take very good notes, because when I called today, I was told Id missed my window of opportunity and there was nothing they could do.
As if my automatic renewal is an act of God that cant be stopped. I didnt try to dispute it. I simply asked for them to help me. I painted a very clear picture of our situation, and they refused. I even asked if they could extend the contract just to July, then cancel, thinking that was a win-win situation.
Every other company weve used (utilities, cable, internet, credit cards, etc.) is doing everything they can to help us. Every company with annual contracts allowed us to cancel immediately & waived any feesexcept CastleRock. Yes, CastleRock may technically be able to get away with what theyre doing. But it isnt honorable, nor is it ethical.
For the person(s) reading this from CastleRock, the people on this website are just that, PEOPLE. With real lives, real families, and real feelings. I go to the store every few days with whatever little bit of money Ive raised from selling something on Craigs List trying to feed three kids. Is it really worth cheating me out of $44/month in the name of your contract?
BTW, my alarm still doesnt work.
