I signed up with vonage in August 2008. I called to cancel on March 17, 2009. They tried every thing in their power to get me to stay and I still declined. I was told that I would be charged an early disconnect fee of $39.00 and a rebate recovery fee of $70.00. I was shocked upon hearing this. When I questioned this, I was told that it was part of the terms of service. These terms of service were never discussed with me nor did I discuss a commitment contract.

I asked to speak witha supervisor and he relayed the same mess that the representative said. Once again, I was very upset. I was so uspet that I hung up on the supervisor.

I tried writing various emails and each time, the representative proclaimed to understand. They kept evading the subject when I asked for the name, telephone number, address or emai laddress of a higher authority.

I will never recommend that any one sign on with Vonage. They are untruthful and charge for unneccessary charges. Their customer service is the worst.

I believe they make their money by charging bogus disconnect fees and rebate recovery fees.

Vonage isn't being treated unfairly

Vonage isn't being treated unfairly. You must be someone who works for vonage. Vonage has rude custormer service employees, they pretend they can't here you on the phone.

They keep you waiting forever. People have the right to cancel their membership with vonage, & they do not have the right to hold people hostage.

Or try to pay people back because they want to leave them, or steal money from peoples checking account.

Vonage makes problems worse for people causing them trouble, during these hardtimes we are In.

Vonage will get you introuble with your bank, even though It wasn't your fault you are still In trouble.

How much did vonage pay you. It Is peoples rights If they do not want to use them. And vonage does not have the right to hold us hostage either or mess our bank accounts up.

If people want to terminate them & use another phone company It Is our right.

Vonage doesn't have the right to hold people hostage, then vonage harass people even more buy sending them to collection, after stealing peoples money.

VONAGE One of the greatest company's I've dealt with

AUTHOR: Chatropolis - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 23, 2009

I currently have 4 vonage lines in Costa Rica. I paid a person in the U.S. to foward me the routers and they work great. The calls sound crystal clear and customer service is great. I had a small billing problem which was my fault and they gave me a month free on all 4 lines. They have always been polite and knowledgeable unlike many customers.

I saw one complaint about a customer not getting a call fowarded to a cell phone. Well we all know the great rep with cell phones. I think that was hardly a Vonage issue.

I save 2,000 dollars a year on 4 lines including 800 service that barely costs me anything. I have never had a problem and every time I have talked to them they have been great. They send out surveys after each time you call them to improve their service. They are how an Internet company should be.

I've owned an Internet company for 15 years. The greatest problem is consumers ordering technology they don't have a clue on how to use.

Vonage is being treated unfair here. I am ordering 4 more lines for my other office shortly and it will go smooth like it usually does. Vonage is a great company with great service.

REBATES

AUTHOR: Dee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 19, 2009

It is common practice that if you receive a rebate for an item or service then you fail to honor the original contract, you forfeit all rebates. This was disclosed to you with the rebate and probably in your contract.
