Unjustified Name-Calling
AUTHOR: The Main Gatekeeper - ()
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, April 02, 2013
This company (and I use that term loosely) called me in July of last year with their stupid coupon offer. I told them I wasn't interested but finally agreed to let them go ahead and send me the trial pack just to get them off the phone. I then called - IMMEDIATELY - to cancel any further transaction on my bank card.
Not until my wife and I switched our primary accounts to a different bank did we discover the withdrawals of $29.95 had continued up until today. We left a small amount of money in our old account just to keep it open in case we wanted to use the account for something else later. Well, the old bank called us this morning to tell us that not only was the account empty, but now we owed the bank for account overdrawn charges.
WC Budget Savers a scam, a rip-off, and fraudulent. I'm getting my money back plus damages. I just got the phone with my attorney, who also happens to be my father-in-law. You see, there's an app called "phone recorder" you can download free. I have it on my phone and I archive ALL conversations that have anything to do with any type of transaction involving money. As a business owner myself, I learned to cover my backside many years ago. Technology just made it easier.
I called WC Budget Savers this morning to inquire as to why my account was being charged after I had called them to cancel. They denied receiving any cancellation call from me - until I played them back a portion of our date-stamped conversation from July 11, 2012 at 11:34 am. Only then did a supervisor agree to refund any monies taken from my account.
That's all good, but that doesn't do anything about the fact that they invaded my account without my permission and caused me to have overdraft charges - something that has not happened to me for over 30 years. It's about time one of the "little people" reach into their bank accounts for a change. That's what I'm fixing to do...

Cancelling Membership

Today I was billed $29.95, it has been exactly 14 days and I have never received ANYTHING in the mail from them. How can you cancel a membership when you never receive any contact information to cancel the membership. I am extremely upset because my gut told me this was going to wind up going wrong when I was talking to the salesperson, but I let myself be talked into it anyway.
I will get my money back, but now I'm going to have to wait until Monday when they are open, and in the meantime that is $30 less in my bank account, money I could have used for gas and food this weekend!!! If this company calls you, please do not take their offer. They will find a way to get money out of you ... I assume they do this because most people don't have time to dispute their charges, or don't even catch the charge until weeks or months later.
I became aware immediately because I have my debit card linked to my cell phone and I receive notice whenever a charge is posted. BUDGET SAVER, you should be ashamed of yourself --- you are taking money from hard working people by offering the freebies and then "you can cancel anytime." You can't CANCEL when you never receive the contact information to CANCEL!!!

YOU ARE A LIAR AND CANNOT LISTEN

Now Budget Savers will automatically bill the 1$ introductory fee to the VISA ending in XXXX, within 1-5 days, AFTER the first 14 days UNLESS YOU CALL TO CANCEL, BUDGET SAVERS will AUTOMATICALLY bill the MONTHLY membership fee of 29.95 AT THE SAME TIME EACH MONTH TO THE SAME CARD.
You can CERTAINLEY CANCEL AT ANY TIME by calling the TOLL FREE # 1-800-475-1942. But the 100$ in gas vouchers are yours to keep as a thank you. SO WITH YOUR APPROVAL YOULL BE BILLED UNDER THE TERMS IVE JUST DESCRIBED AND WELL SEND THE MEMBERSHIP MATERIAL TO YOU IN THE MAIL IN WRITING FOR YOU TO ENJOY (a positive ack is given here) Then you are asked to give you credit card number to CONFIRM THE CHARGE.
This is what you people are being told. This company cannot bill you without a POSITIVE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. After the call is processed it is sent to a QUALITY CONTROL DEPARTMENT where a room of about 100 people listen to every single one of these calls with sheets of guidelines. If you say NO. YOU CANNOT BE CHARGED. If you say "thank you, uh huh, mhm. ect.." YOU CANNOT BE CHARGED. The only way youre charged is if you say yes.
