We Energies has unfair and unregulated bill collection practices.

They put a due date on your bill, then before the due daye, they come and put a "notice" for disconnection on your door, then go to the back to lock the power off.  What kind of notice is that?  Not a notice but an ambush!! 

Once they are there to disconnect, they supposedly can't be contacted to be told that the bill is paid.  If you are unlucky enough to be shut off even though your paid up, they won't turn it back on for 3 days.

Some bureaucrat is having their pocket lined by We Energies to allow them to treat people this way.  They are holding people hostage!!

I was also told by We Energies that they don't care about animals, only people, which is a lie, they care about nothing but the money.

Disconnection rules

AUTHOR: We Energies - (United States of America)

Utilities are required to follow state rules concerning disconnection notification by placing messages in bills and by making phone calls when service may be discontinued for past due charges. 

Bills have one due date for current charges and another due date for any past due charges, which is earlier than the date for current charges. If payment for past due charges is not made by this earlier date, service may be disconnected. 

Once disconnection occurs, we require that an agreed upon payment be made before reconnection. We offer options to make payments that are recognized the same day. Typically, reconnection occurs the day after payment, but in some instances it may take longer, particularly when the next day is a Sunday or holiday.
