Since I have used Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Company for several years now and have always enjoyed doing business with them, I decided to try the Wells Fargo Bank.  BIG MISTAKE!!!  I went to the local branch in Colorado and opened a checking account with them.  I was told I coud have a "fee-free" account if I opted for certain "services".  I already do the "direct deposit" thing so that was no problem.  I also wanted to set up a savings account/overdraft fund, so that was fine. Then the gal (who told me she was always available.. leave a message and she would get right back to me) said I needed to sign up for their VISA card services.  Again, no problem.  I only had one other card and I could use this one for emergencies. I got all the paperwork signed and was supposed to call in to activate my credit card.  1) I called to activate the credit card.  The gal had typed in the wrong birth date.  I was able to get that settled.  2) I kept getting charged monthly "service fees" and I would contact the bank and they would tell me I hadn't signed up for the multitude of services I needed to sign up for.. which I had.  This continued for about 3 months.  3) They also messed up my checks, which I had to reorder.   Finally, I gave up and decided not to close the account I had at my "old bank".  I read the statement from Wells Fargo Banking about how to close out one's account.  It pretty much said to just remove the money from the account and let them know.  I did.  After that, I received statements indicating they were transferring money from my savings account .. which now had NO MONEY IN IT .. to cover my overdraft ... of which I had none.  I started receiving nasty letters and threatening invoices and I told them they had no right to remove my money from my account because 1) I had already removed it and 2) I was no longer a customer.   I got a nastygram back saying they would close my account, which I had already done, but I had to officially close my VISA card, which had no balance on it and I hadn't used it for MONTHS.  NOW THEY ARE CHARGING ME INTEREST on $27.00 they say they took from my savings.

And now they are turning me over to the .... shuddering ... CREDIT REPORTING BUREAU because I owe THEM $27.00 which was MY MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE.  Talk about robbing "Peter" to "Pay Paul".    Here is a sample of the phone numbers options to contact whoever it is one needs to contact:

Well, there were actually SEVERAL bank errors concerning this account which is why it was CLOSED as of JANUARY 13, 2011. I was continually being charged for NOT having the numerous accounts that I actually did have. That was finally straightened out but it took so long I had already given up on you. Don't try to pass your mistakes onto me. I am providing you with the most detailed and accurate information I possibly can but I realize it may not be enough in order for you to understand. I am totally sorry I was naive enough to attempt to deal with the Wells Fargo Bank. It is NOTHING like the mortgage company. Someone (everyone??) needs to take a lesson from the mortgage department. Goodbye.

Dear

Thank you for contacting Wells Fargo. My name is Sheila, and I am happy to assist you.

The charge you are questioning in the amount of $25.00 posting on 04-11-11 and reflected on your 04-25-11 statement represents an Overdraft Protection advance from your credit card account to your Wells Fargo checking account to cover an overdraft. Our records indicate you requested our Overdraft Protection feature, a service which can prevent checking overdrafts and can save you money on returned check fees.

Unfortunately, we are not able to remove the Overdraft Protection and/or Cash Advance unless this Overdraft Protection advance was the result of a bank error.

For assistance with any questions regarding the Overdraft Advance please contact the toll-free service number printed on your checking account statement.

The remaining $2.00 of your account balance is for the monthly assessed Interest Charges which are reflected on your 04-25-11 and 05-26-11 statements.

If we can be of assistance with other matters regarding your credit card account please email us, call us at 1-800-642-4720, or call collect at 925-825-7600. Our staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist with all your credit card needs. We appreciate your business.

My goal today was to provide you a complete and helpful answer. Thank you for banking with Wells Fargo.

WHY did I just receive a statement for billing period 04/28/2011 to 05/28/2011 showing a balance of $27.00 DUE when I have not used this credit card in over a year?? The balance should be $0.00. It shows on the second page an "overdraft advance" of $25.44 at 21.49% interest.

Would you please straighten this situation out? I do not owe for any overdraft charges. I have not used this credit card since I paid it off entirely over a year ago.

No one else .. except the Wells Fargo Bank .. has access to this credit card account. I wish the bank had been half as good as the mortgage company!!

Thank you for your assistance with this matter!! cd396f83-51f9-482f-a19c-fdaca20f32aa

STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS.   It is so easy to turn people over to the credit reporting agencies nowadays.  Don't set yourself up!!!

STATE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION

AUTHOR: Erin - ()

The FCC sent me information for contacting my state's Public Utilities Commission. I called and talked to a very nice lady who was amazed that I was unable to disconnect my telephone services from CenturyLink, but did not seem to be all that surprised.  She told me she would take care of the matter for me but it might take a couple of weeks.  The representative from the State Public Utilities Commission DID TAKE CARE OF MY SITUATION.  Centurylink LIED to the Commission stating they had confirmed they would disconnect my phone (which they did not confirm) and moved to date up for disconnection.  Although CenturyLink had also attempted to obtain another month's paying from me, I actually receieved a refund from them for just over ONE DOLLAR.   GOOD RIDDANCE CENTURYLINK.  THANK YOU PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION!!

WELLS FARGO BANKING - FIGHT DIRTY!!!

AUTHOR: Erin - (U.S.A.)

No real surprise that they turned me into the trio of credit reporters.  That is the going thing nowadays.  If they can't get you to pay via opening your bank account to them or sending monies over the internet, at least they can attempt to ruin your credit.  SHAME ON WELLS FARGO BANKING TOTAL IDIOTS!!!  Sore losers... they hate people (so-called "customers") who REFUSE to kow-toe to the creeps.  If they could have obtained real jobs, they would have had them by now.

At least I can say that Wells Fargo Banking aka Wells Fargo Card "Services", POB 30086, Los Angeles, Kalifornia (where else would they be??) 90030 DID FINALLY CLOSE MY CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT, as I had requested last JANUARY 2011.

I still cannot believe they overcharged me for 3 months for the "privilege" of having an account with them and then they stole MY MONEY from MY SAVINGS ACCOUNT and now they are saying I OWE THEM the $27.00 THEY STOLE from my account.   "Sent us $27.00 today to the address below to prevent further collection action".   SHOULDN'T I be the one going through the collection agency to get my money back from them???  Something a bit BACKWARDS about this situation.

I still cannot believe they are in any way associated with the Wells Fargo Mortgage Company.  Thank goodness these morons can't get "real jobs" where they could actually cause some damage.  What a bunch of *^%$#@! !!!

GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH!!!
