My husband and I were granted a loan modification back in june. They gave us the amount of what our new house payment would be and we have been paying them that amount. Well since then they have not been applying our payments to the loan. They have been sending us "foreclosure" letters.
They show the payments on our statements but show them as "unapplied". So I called and the girl I spoke with pulled up our account and saw where we had completed the loan modification and that we have been current on our payments. She went to transfer me to someone in the loan modification department to see why we would be getting these letters. Of course after being on hold for 20 minutes or so I got disconnected. Within 2 days I recieved another letter stating they were going to foreclose on our home if we don't come current and pay them $7171.15!
They have put this on our credit reports causing our credit cards to be shut down now. so they have created damages to us that we did not deserve! And now I don't know what to do other than find an attorney and fight this.
You hear about people going 12 to 17 months without making a payment and getting their loan modification - we have not missed any payments other than the 2 for June and July that they allowed us in the loan modification papers.
