This company promises to market you to employers. The contract promises numerous services including the drafting of "personalized" letters and resumes, "weekly" staff review of the marketing campaign, daily monitoring of "markets" for job openings and an "extensive" and "exclusive" in house data base of companies. They also advertise as an agency that can transition you and maximize your earning potential.

In reality, once you are signed up they change the rules so as to dump the whole job seeking campaign back onto you. You will be wondering what you paid them for. They write one marketing letter that they cut and paste from materials you write and submit to them. They put no thought into it. They then plan a typical mass mailing to prospective companies, something you can do on your own. They merely print the marketing letter (which you essentially write) and then send it to you in the mail, when you get it you sign it, put a stamp on it and mail it. Then, you are expected to call the company you just sent the letter to in order to essentially ask for a job. Again, William Howard really does nothing. The companies they find are companies that any person can research at a local library. In addition, they put very little thought into the companies they research. It is just a thoughtless mass mailing, something most professionals are taught is the wrong approach to getting a job. There was no weekly review of my campaign, no monitoring of job markets, no personalized cover letters and resumes (unless I wrote them).

Lastly, your contract price only pays for two hundred of these crummy marketing letters. After that, you have to pay them $1.50 for every company they look up. They make it seem as if 200 mailings is enough to get a job, but based on the quality of the letter and the companies they look up, that is not possible. The marketing letter is clearly designed to save them the work in having to prepare a resume and cover letter for each prospective company. It is all a scam, they really do nothing. Save your money.

They will take your money and do nothing. Do not believe the hype. It is a mass mailing, plain and simple. There is no market watching. No way you can get a job on the 200 mailing they prepare. Promises and puffery are used to sign you up, and then it is you essentially writing the resume, cover letter and making all the calls to prospective employers.

Dear Anonymous,

It was brought to my attention that this posting was on this site. If you are a client, please call me immediately. I want you to be very pleased with our services. There are over 50 testimonials from satisfied clients posted on our web page regarding our services and the quality of the letters and resumes that we create. These notes, letters and emails are from clients who used our services and wrote us about their experience. We never ask any client to do this. That's what makes these testimonials even more special to my staff and me. We have more of these letters at our office. That being said, it bothers me deeply that you are not pleased. I don't know why there is confusion about the services we provide. Allow me to clear up a few things.

We do all the writing of letters and resumes. We always ask for client input and approval on each and every letter and resume before we prepare any mailings for clients to submit to employers. Depending on the avenues they want us to pursue, they may require one letter and resume or they may need many versions. Whatever the case, we are responsible for creating each and every letter and resume for them. Yes, we not only want but we need client input. Our clients are appreciative that we welcome their input.

We do not do mass mailings. We research and monitor the market for clients, locate the appropriate decision maker at each company, and prepare a mailing for clients to submit to each employer. As part of the service, clients will receive 200 of these targeted mailings. This is a sufficient amount for most clients. If clients do utilize their 200 mailings and have not accepted employment, we will provide three options. One option is to continue providing these mailings at $3.00 each; another option is to have us do the research for them, and they do their own printing at $1.50 each; the third option is that they use our database to pull reports on employers (free of charge). They will have free access to the thousands and thousands of employers. The reports they generate will have full profiles on each company and we will email those reports to their home for them to utilize, again free. We have one client that asked if his wife could use our database to pull reports on companies for her own personal use. She was starting a new business and wanted a list of certain companies that she could market her services to. She was willing to pay for those reports. I told our client that his wife could use our database free of charge. Needless to say, they are both very, very pleased.

Each and every client has different needs and personalities. Some clients want to have weekly reviews of their campaign. Some clients don't have the time or desire to touch base each week. Whatever the client wants, we work for their needs. If they want a weekly review, we are happy to provide it, to ensure their campaign is going in the direction they desire. If they don't want to have a weekly review, we simply ask that they contact us if their needs change and they want to make any adjustments to the direction of their campaign. In other words, they can be as active or inactive as they want, and we will provide our services to fit their needs.
