When my son was born he was put in the hospital at 2 days old due to an infection around his brain and spine, also know as spinal mennegitis. After a few weeks he was released and given perscriptions. I went to the wal mart pharmacy in my town and had them filled. The man behind the counter was very nice but in very much a hurry. I took the perscrips. home and gave them to my son 3 days went by when we noticed he was getting sicker instead of better, so I took him back to the dr. and we found out the perscription labels had been switched and he 3 was tripple overdosing on one med, and only getting a quarter of what was needed for the other. As you can imagine I was very very very mad.!!!!

So after the dr.s office I went back into wal mart and they told me that the pharmacy was getting ready to close when I had the perscriptions filled and thats prob. why the man was in a hurry and mixed them up.( I DON'T CARE!) Then they told me when this happens they ussually refund the money and give people 5 free perscriptions. Now my first reaction to them was o.k. so your saying you do this alot! Well she said no but then my next reaction was to let everyone in the line for the pharmacy know what they did, so I got a bit loud and told them you almost killed my newborn son and you acctually expect me to take 5 free perscriptions from you idiots when the 2 I paid for you couldn't even get right!! So then they had a manager come up and talk to me who just kept shoving a release form in my face to sign. I told him to shove it in his (you know) and told him after I sue him and own the f---ing store he would be fired.

Now I haven't followed through with this because I thought this was a once in a lifetime mistake, but latly I have been hearing alot of this and some people have acctually died. If anyone else out there has ran into this kind of thing let me know. Or if you know a good attorney for this kind of thing please let me know.

Have you contacted?

AUTHOR: anonymous - (USA)

Hi Martha,
Have you found the medical malpractice lawyer for your case?
I'd like to hear the result of the dispute.
It seems that Wal-Mart does not monitor their medical professionals and accept the complaints from custpmer in the proper manner.

Sharp practice?

AUTHOR: Pj - (U.S.A.)

I thought the 90 day prescriptions were too good to be true, even for generic medication but decided to try it anyway.
Two months ago I started on the 90 day plan. They make very little mention of the fact that you will probably have to collect prescriptions every 30 days, due to 'insurance company restrictions'
Seemed possible so I had prescription filled.
It wasn't any cheaper than any other local drug store and was also considerably more expensive than the insurance company 'tele-drug' online/postal service. (It will total over $150.00 for 90 days instead of less than $120.00)
Yesterday I atempted to get the final 30 day supply of medication only to be notified the insurance company had denied claim and I would have to pay entire amount. ( first time I've had any problems in almost 3 yrs) My employment status hasn't changed, or the insurance company) Seemed somewhat suspicious so I left prescriptions in store. Is this a 'bait and switch' tactic by Wal-Mart/Sam's club? They have a months medication and prescription and unless I pay way more than I should I'm stuck without it.
