This is not the first time I've written about this particular store. They have gone far beyond the limits of what I call proper. To say that Sam Waltons' stores and name have been taken to the lowest depths possible, would not even cover what they've done to me now!

Basically, I had been contacted about a supposed "bad check" that had not cleared after they received it. I had called both my bank, to which that particular account had been closed before the check was written, and I also called Wal Mart. Well, I "thought" that the matter had been settled upon my informing all parties who needed to know, that the checks had been stolen and were used by whoever. I was "assured" by this WM customer relations employee, that I would not have to worry about this matter anymore because my bank had sent them the proper information to show that I was not responsible.

Well, now, in todays mail, I receive a letter from the local police department informing me that they have a check that was no good from Wal Mart and if I didn't clear this amount up by April 6th, I would face being arrested and put into jail! I am completely floored by their greed and lowly actions towards an innocent person! I was told that the matter was closed and now to have this happen?? I never liked Wal Mart but this has put my hatred towards them to a whole new level and the level of greed that they have shown is outright despicable!!!! I don't know what else to do but pay this bill and the worst part about all of this is that I am collecting (this is my last week for this "huge" amount too) a lousy $105 a week from unemployment!! I now have $30 left to my name b/c I'm FORCED to pay this or face being arrested!

I do plan on filing a suit for harassment against Wal Mart. They have NOT heard the last from me OR about what low measures they'll take to collect that HUGE amount of money that obviously will put the whole store out of business if they don't get it..PALEEZE!!!This is definitely the lowest I've ever seen anyone or, especially such a huge chain who earn hundreds of billons of dollars every year.. Like I said, I guess the $26 dollars that someone STOLE from me would be just enough to put Wal Mart out of business here.. What a joke that company is and I now know where I will NEVER shop again AND I will tell all of my friends about this which will take even more business away.. They have gone too far this time...

i know this is a little late,ok a lot

AUTHOR: Ravenslvr - (U.S.A.)

but it looks more like Melissa wants friends and sympathy than to be telling the truth. a check from a canceled account would not have gone through a walmart register. shes lying. she just wants someone to take care of her money wise. take responsibility for being lazy. it wasn't bush's' fault your ass was unemployed. maybe its because you never applied for a job or you called in to much. maybe you don't have a HS diploma. or you just dont have any skills. either way, you brought all of this on yourself for being careless, even if someone got your checks, how? you let them somehow. its your fault. take the blame instead of acting like obama and placing it on someone else

To Jim in Flagstaff.

AUTHOR: Marc - (U.S.A.)

I can only speak for my state, but here it's not only a crime to write a bad check, it's a FELONY no matter what the amount is. There is a good reason for this, it's because a check-kiter usually spreads many checks around figuring he'll never get caught.

I had a customer bounce a $35 check, no big deal until the detectives had me pick him out of a photo line-up. He was wanted in fifteen states at the time, and had written well over a hundred grand worth of bad checks that will be paid for by you, me, and every other consumer.

Happily, I had made him put his thumbprint on the check and that was the one that finally put him away. I only wish I could have been in the courtroom to see the look on his face.

Interesting interpretation of the law ...

AUTHOR: Peter - (U.S.A.)

"Jim" wrote: "Most states have now codified that when you write a check - knowing it's not good - to those check loan places, it's not considered a crime."

Pardon me, Jim, but I do believe that Walmart is NOT "one of those check loan places," but rather a retail establishment, in which writing bad checks IS a crime any way you look at it. Perhaps you have more experience than I at writing bad checks to "those check loan places," but either way, that is a totally separate issue that has nothing to do with Walmart.

As far as your other comments, those also have nothing to do with Walmart and so I will not respond to them. How about learning to stay on track and focus on one issue at a time?

Peter from nowhere

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

Peter, Peter, Peter - you are actually soooo wrong. Most states have now codified that when you write a check - knowing it's not good - to those check loan places, it's not considered a crime. So your statement that ANY reason is a CRIME is just not right.

Besides, where is Pony?

Have had this happen

AUTHOR: Erin - (U.S.A.)

I am so confused?

I have had the same situation with Wal Mart and they have taken care of the situation. First of all if your checks were stolen you should have a police report filed. Why did you not do that? Becuase if you did all you would have had to do is send the copy of the police report to Wal Mart and everything else would have been takin care of.

I have had that happen. A person stole my checkbook, wrote a $250 check to Wal Mart, I had the check stoped. Wal Mart did call me and tell me that the check did not clear and told me just to send them the police report and it would be taken care of. I did and never heard anything about it again. Just a thought you should have gone to the police when you noticed you checks were stolen. Why you did not is beyond me.

C'mon Folks

AUTHOR: Lori - (U.S.A.)

This post is almost 2 1/2 years old, and the situation has already been resolved in one form or another. Since that time, I've had Walmart cash a check that WASN'T EVEN SIGNED (my fault, not theirs), so the whole situation doesn't surprise me. I still (for those with weak hearts, now is the time to stop reading) shop at Wally World, because despite all the complaints, I've never been treated badly by any of the local stores, and by purchasing their products, my VERY large family can actually survive this economy.

For the record, I'm Democrat (hmmm, I still believe that Bush is the source of all evil, even with a republican husband), Wiccan (guess thats a good thing, since I've read other posts that insist that Walmart persecutes Christians), and female (the weaker of the 2 sexes, right?).

Now, it's time to let this one die, and go on to the next cause.... Maybe Target, since they don't support our veterans, or any cause related to the same (oh, forgot, also proudly married to a US vet!).

Have a great day!!

Writing a bad check for ANY reason is a CRIME

AUTHOR: Peter - (U.S.A.)

Writing a bad check for ANY reason is a CRIME. Walmart was totally within their rights to contact the police regarding your bad check. If you think you have a good excuse for writing a bad check, then that's great - tell it to the police.

WALMART

AUTHOR: Richard - (U.S.A.)

IF EVERYBODY WOULD JUST STOP SHOPPING AT RIP OFF MART, THEN THEY WOULD GO OUT OF BUSINESS, OR THEY WOULD STAND UP AND TAKE NOTICE, OTHER THAN THAT, WHY DON'T YOU PEOPLE GET A LIFE, AND GET OFF OF THE COMPUTER...EVERYBODY KNOWS WALLY MART IS A CRAPPY STORE, AND THEY TREAT YOU BAD, EVEN THE EMPLOYEES, BUT FOR SOME STRANGE REASON THEY KEEP ON WORKING THERE, AND THE PEOPLE THAT COMPLAIN ABOUT EVERYTHING THERE, KEEP ON SHOPPING THERE...

I ALSO WROTE A CHECK TO WALLYMART, AND WHEN I WENT TO RETURN SOMETHING, THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME A CASH REFUND! AFTER THE CHECK CLEARS, BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE MY RECEIPT, WHICH WAS FINE, BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS GIVE IT BACK TO YOU IN A GIFT CARD. WELL THEY WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE ME THAT! NOW, ALL OF YOU SO CALLED SMART PEOPLE THAT ARE RESPONDING TO THIS STORY, TELL ME WHY? AND I DON'T NEED SOME GUY THAT'S A MEMBER OF THE NRA TO RESPOND TO THIS. WHAT THE HE** DOES THAT GOT TO DO WITH ANYTHING?

Give same info you gave to Wal-Mart from bank to Police and etc... to help

AUTHOR: Fargo - (U.S.A.)

I say contact your bank get the same information that they gave Wal-Mart saying your account was closed and checks stolen and then take it to the Police Department and show them the documents. If you can get a statment from your bank saying they gave that same information to Wal-Mart so the police know that you contacted Wal-Mart and they new that the check was stolen. Hope this helps

Not Bush's Fault You Lost Your Job!

AUTHOR: Buddy - (U.S.A.)

Good grief! Even Kerry outsourced his phone banks when he was running for President. You can't keep an employer from outsourcing. Get a job that is attached to the U.S. that can't be outsourced. And, how long did it take you to figure out that your engineering job wasn't coming back and you should look for something else? You could make more than $105 a week working at fast food full time.

Also, how would an engineer be making so little money that unemployment would only be $105 a week. Anyway, as to the $26 dollars -- your bank wrote a letter to Wal-Mart -- get them to write a letter to the police department, too. How does Wal-Mart take a check without identification? Many Wal-Marts now use checks for EFT, so if someone had used a stolen check after your checks were reported stolen, it would not have gone through.

I know that when $26 is half of the money you have, it seems like a lot. As far as Wal-Mart goes, someone has gotten away with $26 worth of merchandise and they want their money, but IMHO it's partially Wal-Mart's fault for not asking for proper i.d. for taking a check in the first place. It is possible to talk to the police, they are not monsters.

Personal responsibility

AUTHOR: Talmadge - (U.S.A.)

First you want Walmart to "write off" your bad check because it's just a small one and they are so rich. Then you launch into a litany about their marketing practices which have obviously made them successful and criticise them for the woes of inefficient stores such as Winn Dixie and others. Publix and Fresh Markets can and do locate across the street from Walmart and regularly "eat their lunch". Where are the men in the household? The only one mentioned just joined the service which seems like a smart move. The rest of you may need to consider doing likewise. Every woe you mentioned is the direct result of a poor personal decision rather than someone elses fault. You need to grow up and say the buck stops here. By the way - use rabbit ears and you can buy food with your cable TV service savings.

Beth makes a sound point.
To check your police record, you can either go to their headquarters and request the info or, in most cities/counties, check it online via (your counties) clerk of courts system.
It is surprising the info that's in there.
In my county, I pulled up where i was a witness to something over 30 yrs ago.

your case would be dismissed by a Magistrate.... Don't sweat it.

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

Melissa,

What Wal-mart did was perfectly legal...they turn their checks over to Magistrate Court, not to police officers. Magistrate court then gives you ten days to pay it without issuing an arrest warrant. Once the warrant is issued, then you will get a letter from the Sheriff's Department...however, worthless check writing is a non-jailable offense in West Virginia. If you had contacted the police when your checks were stolen and filled out an affidavit of forgery that you obtain from your bank then your case would be dismissed by a Magistrate....Don't sweat it.

This has nothing to do with Wal Mart, I just had to LMAO at the ignorance displayed by Kathy and Melissa... That's right, it's all BUSH'S FAULT! Kerry would've made it ALL BETTER, huh? Two more whiny Democrats, one on unemployment... what a shocker! And if Kerry had been elected, you could find him cowering in fear under his desk as we speak. Thanks David... did not give me much relief for their mistakes.

AUTHOR: Kathy - (U.S.A.)

Oh yea, I remember the tv in the trash bins....and all those books, and such, I thought the same thing. But as I just HAD to settle with them out of court....and even though EEOC did rule in my favor. I had to hire a lawyer and pay them almost half the money to try and get my job back. AND THEY would NOT give me my job back at all. I can NEVER work for them ever again. They were STEADFAST on that one. And did not give me much relief for their mistakes. Had my son being in the ARMY not make us in desparate need at the time, i would have went on to court. But as it is I can put them behind me and go on. They were NOT worth What I went through TRYING to get to work for them. The fight was not worth the STRESS it put me through.

That is why they win so much, people give up and give in. If my lawyer had backed me more.....I would have went all the way. I got afraid, but no matter how hard I begged them for my JOB, the only THING I wanted, I was NOT ever going to get that back.

It devasted me. Now to ONLY get KERRY elected and get big business to ANS to the people!!! Mr Bush is killing us all at the bottom. Our sons can go and risk their lives, but we cant even aford to enjoy the rights they defend cause we have not enough money to do with.

I want AMERICA back to a BETTER place. And feel the Kerry/Edwards ticket would do that for us. Everyone who wants to work should be able to....disabled or not at something. And now that so many men are being called up and deployed, maybe the women vote will do it this time around. My soldier friend in IRAQ says they can vote, but sometimes their VOTES dont get counted...now hows that for our govt.? Risk your life for this cause and we wont even see your vote gets counted. Walmart and the Govt are both crooks that get away with stuff. And Walmart does not care anymore about anything but the bottom line.

We go to family dollar/dollar stores/groc stores/ and i shop on the web to keep from going there as much as possible.

Small towns dont have as many options, but I do the best I can to not even give them my foodstamp dollars.

Thanks again!!! And it will come back to haunt them sometime in the future, its got to. They break laws every day. Just look at the papers.

Wal-Mart Waste... Why not donate it to a charity?

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

It is very interesting to see all the things Wal-Mart is doing to get ahead these days, I guess its just like any other big corp. anymore. I use to work for a local trash company as a foreman and let me tell all of you that you would not believe how much good stuff they toss so they can write off their books.

Why not donate it to a charity? I have seen truck loads of things like coolers, bikes, clothing. These are only but a few exaples. I know some things do need to get tossed due to recalls and defects but this stuff comes right from the stores because they are ocer stock and dont want to return it to the manufacturer. What a waste.

After reading these complaints I wont shop there anymore. I am a moral person and don't understand were customer service went to but I think they need to be put in their place and be show who pays their bills, US WAL-MART THE CONSUMER. With out us you are nothing. You just lost a good customer because of the pratices you are persuing, I don't want to be your next victim.

Just to let you know someone else does care

AUTHOR: Kathy - (U.S.A.)

Hi Melissa,
I worked for Walmart for almost 11 years, and now am suing to get my job back. They would not let me work with accomodations after I got hit by an 18 wheeler going into their parking lot. Would not let me go back to work with any restrictions. But that is another story but to say I UNDERSTAND how COLD and uncaring they have become since Mr Sam died and GREED has taken over. Has no one HEARD about FOOD Worlds starting to shut some stores, and Massive stores of WINN DIXIE are closing....ALL DUE TO SUPERCENTERS I would say.

But I have been unemployed since 2001 and drawing my disability from the govt. NEVER got my LTD from Walmart and Hartford! But would have messed up my medicade if I had gotten it. I have been up and down the lines of middle class (raised), and poverty (now) but hearing from many family members I NEED to get a job....I am looking!

Spent all day yesterday and today online tracking and filling out applications, decided I could move if I found something. Even the Americorps, to help me. I have a BA and have a hard time getting any HELP because of that fact. I had the WRECK AFTER the BA and lost a few brain cells, need some place to help build some confidence I have lost, and its just not out there. I am expected to live on $583 a month in disability with $72 in foodstamps.

My son just left for basic training in the army and his wife is staying with me to help out. But the govt messed up her housing and have not paid yet, and the colleg kid is home for a month before his paid summer job starts. AND we are doing without food I use to charge on my credit cards, but they are so maxed I dont even have a cule how i am going to pay them when the daughter in law leaves in Sept. Becuase the govt will get her check straight this month or they are going to hear from MAMA about it. And its hard for MANY right now with jobs. I keep hearing the median family income is 41,000 for our state...yea that is with two working.....maybe. I never made more than $7,000 a year from Wally world and still had foodstamps and assistance with child support at that. So you can see its hard to live on less for anyone that ever had anymore.

Listen if you are drug free and dont mind living with a disabled person, non violent, I am going to go one further here. If you want to come to AL and try and get into one of the MANY Automotive places around here that might hire you, I am willing to lend you a room till you get paid and charge half the housing for rent if you want. Just let me know, I will put my email in here for you. Honda is near here and TEKSID, I dont have the qualifications are ability for them, although in HR I am applying for jobs this week, and praying life experience might help on that one.

Anyway a stranger does care, I am 46 and have two grown boys, my house is small, but I want to keep it. As $200 is a a good mortgage payment and I cant afford to move....LOL. But need help in keeping what I do have.

kathymellon@msn.com

My belief is we all are going to have to come together to HELP each other and do for each other to make it. There have been times I have went hungry so someone else could eat. WONDER if SAMI ever had that to experience. I have went cold so someone else was warm, and gave them my sweater, and I bet Sami would never think to do that. I honestly have a step mom like SAMI and I dont really like the woman. She never had kids, I THINK that HELPS one to KNOW about sharing, most of the time. I do have a few friends that dont get it as well. They will eat when their kids are hungry and not share. NOT me, I share with their kids or do without.

Anyway, if you want to write to me about living here, I can send you the links to all the automotive places to see if you can get on. TEKSID is only four miles from me. Honda is 30 miles from here.

Family dont care, I do understand that one as well. So write to me, I am understanding and care. And ready to MARCH on the white house if we have to so KERRY can beat Bush, Edwards is the one who GOT IT.....maybe KERRY will make him VP.....I can only hope!

This is election year, and we can be HEARD! But we have to all speak up. Heard the news the economy is doing GREAT...yea....in what dimention is that. When the gas hit $2.04 a gallon and some waitress get just cents for working an hour and tips...I cringed. And at $5.15 min wage...that is three dollars a hour now if the gas cost to get you to work. AND many here work in Birmingham as well. Oh, try HOME DEPOT here to see about a job, found lots of listings there.

Our housing is running from $250-450 for most people in the area. Utility bills are whatever you make them, pretty much. Mine is runs from $90-130 on average for electricity. Cable is $48 and the phone $35. Water went up to $14 and some change recently. So you can see cost of living here is min. but it still gets my check gone in a hurry.

I have other debt and insurance that I cant afford but do somehow. And yes EBAY has helped me do somethings as well, but the market for sales seems to have bottomed out lately on there as well. Listings that dont sell are costing me. But you do try anything and everything to make it and keep from going so far under and its like quicksand right now for many of us. Banning together is our only way to be heard and help each other the only way to make it. I have a house, a bed, that is a room to help someone with. Most people are in houses and dont need all that space and too stingy about their privacy to even SHARE that. I am picky as far as wanting no drugs/only social drinker at best, and someone I wont fear, ( I was abused by ex), but other than that, I am flexible.....hope to hear from you. oh, i have cats I took in as well. just in case you are allergic.

Jana,
I wanted to, as I did with Darren, respond to your rebuttel. I am still completely unemployed and just as you, have been turned down or just never called, about jobs I've applied for AND am quite willing to work at, because they said I was far too qualified. Where am I and all of us others who are seemingly "over-qualified" supposed to acquire a job if we keep applying at any and all places only be to given the same response?? I NEED A JOB NOW!!!! I don't have much left to sell here and now, because I've exhausted my unemployment benefits from my old state(CT), I'm now[thank god for small favors] collecting from what I've earned here in West Virginia..Unfortunately, it's only giving me a grand total of $66 a week. Now, I ask all of you...WHO CAN LIVE AND SURVIVE ON 66 DOLLARS A WEEK????? When I "had" my real job, I earned 66 dollars in less than 3 hours!! The jobs of yesterday and the ones like I had just a few shorts years ago, are all but gone now. They've mostly been shipped(outsourced) out of this country only to be given to people who are far less qualified and far more willing to work for $1.00 a day!! This IS what our greedy corporate heads and politicians have done to this once great country. They've managed to completely wipe out any ability for the average (middle class) American to find and keep a decent living waged job..instead, they expect us to survive on minimum wage, which, in this state where I now live(and pray to god to leave before June)is merely $5.35 an hour!! Who can afford to live off of those wages???? Even if you were to work 40 plus hours, you'd be looking at a grand total(before taxes)$214! Now I ask you..who can survive on that???

I have been sending out many, MANY resumes to any and all places I can locate. I've been concentrating my attention on Connecticut only because I know that I can find a roommate situation to move in to and they do pay a much higher minimum wage! Most jobs that they have advertised are not the ones most of us, who've had better positions, are looking for. Thise are restricted to either inside employees or through recruiters. I have been sending my resumes to many recruiters in CT. now to hopefully gain some interviews and with any luck, locating myself a job that will sustain me! I really am quite discouraged and don't know how much more I can bear...I have lost one very close friend to suicide recently because he couldn't take going broke. That is scaring me a lot now b/c of how low I have gotten within myself...My friends keep telling me that I HAVE to try to maintain a positive attitude, but they're all employed and do not know the struggles I and many others like me, have been constantly going through. Of course, what is making me feeli the worst is knowing that my Mother, who is now almost 76 years old, has been spending every penny she has for herself, to keep ME going! I cannot live with her b/c of my Father..He's an awful person who has told me that I am on my own..If he finds out how much $$$ my Mother has loaned me to keep me afloat, he'll beat the crp out of her...So, do you now see just what I am dealing with on top of not having employment??? I have a boayload of guilt and I'm scared to death..I've also not mentioned that I lost my home to bankruptcy...This is the ONLY reason I am down here..Of course, it would've helped to have a sister who was willing to help me out for a couple of months..It WAS all I needed to get myself into another place to live..I had to quit a full time job b/c she and her husband would NOT help me out! They told me that it was my problem and I needed to get myself out of it..Talk about cold...

So, if you want to point any fingers at anyone(and YES, I DID inform the "Keystone Cops here in this rinky dink town I'm in about the problems I had with stolen checks! Not only have they not helped me, but I did have to pay for one that I NEVER wrote out! So,Barb from Richmond Va., why don't you make sure you get ALL of the real facts before you point a finger at someone you don't even know!!)pointthem at the REAL culprits we now have..Our elustreous President Bush and ALL of his cronies, the greedy corporate leaders for selling us all out and all of these other "followers" who would ratherbe there to make a fast buck instead of helping their own!

Get off your high-horse, Sami

AUTHOR: Jana - (U.S.A.)

Sami-

I have to take issue with your attitude toward unemployed people.

Perhaps you are lucky enough to still have a job, but, in this lackluster economy, there a many who just can't find work right now, for a variety of reasons. Yes, some are lazy, but the majority WANT to work. I am currently unemployed, but am doing everything possible to try to get a job; i.e., faxing and emailing resumes galore, and pounding the pavement everyday.

I'd be willing to scrub toilets at McDonald's for minimum wage, had I not already been told - by McDonald's - that I am over-qualified for such a position.

The employment market here in Austin - as it is in other cities around the nation - is completely saturated right now.

By the way, I do not collect unemployment benefits. I am selling my belongings and handmade clothing on Ebay to try to make my rent, in addition to all my exhaustive efforts to try to find steady employment. Many people are doing the exact same things as I, so your claim that we, the unemployed, are leaches is totally malicious and without justification.

Also, I once had a credit card stolen. It was a BRAND NEW card that was intercepted in the mail by my ex-roommate's boyfriend (I had moved out about one month prior to the card being mailed, and had notified the CC company of my new address). Consequently, I never received the card itself, rather a bill which showed that the card had been maxed out within four days of receipt. Luckily I only had to pay $26.00 -- for a card I never had the opportunity to use.

Point is, the stolen card was in no way my fault, and - despite VISA's and USPS' investigations - the thief was never apprehended.

It's the principle of the matter, Sami.

Is it fair that the criminal went completely unpunished, while I had to pay a fee - however small - for their bad behavior? I suppose in your bleeding-heart, empathy-for-the-criminal, screw-the-victim liberal world, it is fair.

Thank You Darren!!

AUTHOR: Melissa - (U.S.A.)

I wanted to respond directly to Darren from Neenah, Wisconsin for saying what needed to be said to "Mr. Perfect"[Sami] out of New York. Of course, if we all wanted to get down to his level, we could say how typically rude, errogant and need I not forget how New Yorkers are always known for spewing off at the mouth about things they don't even know anything about but have opinions of every last one of them???!! Now that IS how stupid you sounded Sami!

For your information, I am NOT any type of lazy person who would rather lay around and collect an unemployment check that is FAR BELOW what I am worth! I WANT to work and I WILL have myself another ENGINEERING job soon! I have been put out of my job because of our elustreous LOSER President Bush! If it weren't for all of his idiotic cronies in Washington, outsourcing ALL of the jobs to cheap labor filled countries, filling all of these overstuffed corporate CEO, CFO, COO's pockets with the pure greed that they have running through their veins; they're leaving all of us hard working people here in the US out of work...Oh well, why am I even trying to argue this with you Sami? You probably have your Mommy read the paper for you every day, right??!!!!

Anyway, as I said, I am wasting my time arguing with a narrow minded, tunnel vison filled BOY...I'll just say Thank You again there Darren..At least I know there's others out there who don't automatically ASSUME people that are down on their luck and being taken for all that they worked for and stuck living on the edge of losing it ALL, aren't out here sucking up the money that WE ALL PUT INTO THESE ACCOUNTS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! I think that Sami boy needs to have himself a few(hundred) more lessons in how the world REALLY works and not from his armchair near the teet of his Mommy! Why don't you find yourself a way to learn the real way of the world there Sami..Until then, why don't you just keep your uneducated, ill thought out opinions to yourself!

Sami, Sami, Sami... what are we gonna do with you?

AUTHOR: Darren - (U.S.A.)

Dear Sami,

I am glad to see that there is someone so perfect out there. It gives me inspiration to know that today, in this very time and place there is one that can walk on water. One that can cast the first stone! Thank you so much!

I love your theory... everyone that has been a victim of criminal action is at fault. Blame the victim. I can imagine the money saved by no longer needing to prosecute criminals. Unless you wish to take this to the logical extreme and prosecture the victims. How dare someone have a checkbook that can be lost or stolen (I am assuming that you have NEVER lost or had anything stolen).

Your attitude towards a person who it unemployed is amazing. Automatically assuming that a person is a leach and of less value than you. You have no idea the years that a person paid into unemployment benefits and if a person who looses a job ever recouped the actual amount paid in.

Again, I love to find somone on this site like you. Self-centered and egotistical. As I have mentioned before, the prognisis is not good since for things like this it required the acknowledgment of a problem, and someone with your disorder is unlikely to be able to accomplish this.

From your attitude, I can easly imagine you as one of the customer service people that roll their eyes and smack their lips as each customer comes to talk to you. If so, is it no wonder that people often react negatively?

Unfortunately, the way that the 800 lb. gurilla works often doesn't leave alternatives to shopping. They use sub-standard wages, citizen financed tax breaks, imminent domain to drive out the competition. By virture of their position and their resources, I do believe that they should work with the customer to resolve issues.

For all others. When you make a complaint against a Wal-Mart employee, contact them via their national number. Remain calm and if possible don't request or accept anything that they wish to offer as compensation. Instead, just tell them how sad you felt at being treated and how it really wasn't what you expected from such a fine organization.

This really makes your complaint have weight. The see that you are a reasonable person and it really hurts you that you needed to make such a complaint, but you owed it to them and future customers that must deal with that person.

If you rage and compaint and demand compensation they will just agree with you, promise you anything and then hang up and do nothing. But, if you are reasonable and calm and concerned then that employee is almost assured to be talked to and watch their next promotion denied because of your valid complaint in their record.

Sami, good luch I am really do hope that nothing untoward ever happens to you. But, if it does, just remember... it is all your fault!

Question about truth here...

AUTHOR: Barb - (U.S.A.)

Melissa states:
" Basically, I had been contacted about a supposed "bad check" that had not cleared after they received it. "

Melissa, wouldn't the police accept the same evidence you supplied WalMart from your bank? If the checks were stolen, was that reported to the police? The police would have had this information and would not have taken a false report from WalMart. Is all this actually about another "bad" check and not the check that was written from a set of stolen checks? I believe people should be held responsible for the accusations they make. This complaint about "paying" for a check you didn't write sounds too fishy. I don't believe WalMart is persecuting Melissa, I believe Melissa is hiding or avoiding some crucial evidence.

#30 Consumer Suggestion

Several suggestions, analyze your behavior in the store as well as your personal habits

AUTHOR: Sami - (U.S.A.)

Here are several suggestions that might prove helpful in the future.

1- Take responsibility for your personal belongings such as checkbooks, so that things like this do not happen again.

2- Don't blame others for your foolishness and carelessness for not taking care of your checks

3- Get a job and stop leaching off us working Americans by "collecting" our hard-earned money.

4- Find something better to whine about than a measly $26. I can see if it were $226, but really, for only $26, isn't it better to preserve your good name and avoid conflict with law personnel by just paying that piddly amount?

5- Find out the real reason you have so many problems at Walmart. Like you said, this is not the first problem you have had there. Take a close look at yourself and analyze your behavior in the store as well as your personal habits, and try to find a link there.
