Waldron Electric Gross overcharge West Mifflin, Pennsylvania

My 80 year mother saw a spark come from the bottom of her dishwasher, so she called Waldron Electric. The guy showed up and asked for a credit card to pay the $65 travel fee. After my mom paid that fee, he told her he would need to run "diagnostics" to figure out the problem.

After running "diagnostics" for 10 minutes, he told her he needed to replace the line from the dishwasher to the fuse panel, which he did in under 40 minutes. He then presented my mother with the bill, which included the $65 trip fee, $430 to run "diagnostics", and $780 to replace the line. He also told her she should replace her panel and that he could do it for $5000!

I Talked to a reputable electrical and he told me this should not have cast more that $200. He also told me the cost of a replacement panel is between $1200 - $1500.
