Someone used my Walmart.com account to purchase a gift card and send it to themselves.  I contacted Walmart right away and canceled my account.  Contacted my credit card and all seemed ok for two months then the charged showed back up on my credit card bill.  Walmart said it was a legitimate charge even though the IP addresses don't match.  Then I did a search on Google and this is not just me it's a national and massive problem and Walmart.com is saying it's not happening.  Tell everyone you know to not shop at Walmart.com and to cancel their accounts.  They will have to actually call to make sure their accounts are deleted.

Be careful

AUTHOR: MochaG - ()

There are plentiful of reports about security breach of their website. I am not sure how bad it is, but no one should order and/or buy anything from the website until at least there is a proper security investigation.

Their website is using Strust frame work (Java). I am not sure what version they are using and how up-to-date it is. The previous version (version 1) is out dated and contains way too many security vulnerabilities. The current version (version 2) also contains serious security vulnerabilities up to a certain version. I do not know whether or not they have updated their software (frame work) and patched/fixed any vulnerabilities. If this similar incidents keep occuring, I won't be wondered that someone would start a law suit against them...

Why I blame Walmart.com

AUTHOR: CinderAsh - ()

 1) They claime the AVS returned positive but according to their own paperwork it did not.  Furthermore on page 5 of their report they blacked out the final AVS response.

2) My IP address does not match the IP address used to make the purchase.  The town does not match ect.

3) Dispite my dispute Walmart.com refuses to reverse the charges.

4) The person who used my account actually used Walmart.com's physical address as their home address and Walmart.com's phone number as their home number.  SOMEONE there should have noticed that during the review.

5) YOU are wrong in assuming that Walmart.com does not deal with fraud they do so on a daily basis.  Hence their fraud department.

Finally,  do a search on Walmart.com and fraud you will see how very BIG this problem really is.

How is this Walmart's fault?

AUTHOR: Inspector - ()

They are a retailer not a fruad service. Why do you hold them responsible? This happens all the time with other cards as well. Fair is fair.
