In October 2005 we began the process with Walter Homes to build. Gave copies of all deeds because we were unsure as to how many would be needed for callateral. Signed all papers. Later once assessments were done decided we would only need the three lots the house was sitting on. Relocated the placement of the house so that could be done. 2 years later they filed a corrective mtg with the original docs to include all of the property rather than the 3. Took them 2 1/2 years to build the house with constant drama, only 90%. 1/2 of the things they were supposed to fix they still have not. Forced us to sign that the house was ready for us claiming this bullet list would be completed of which it was not. Was also told the payment would not begin until the list was complete of which did not occur. First payment was late due to incorrect info. ALL who told us this once our house was complete were fired, from the construction crew to the branch manager. Husband became disabled and while awaiting disability to be approved we became late NEVER more than 3 payments and always caught things up. 4 months ago we were contacted for our payment of which I explained it was tax time and would have it to them in two days. They refused the payment and have refused every since. Yesterday we were served foreclosure papers for 4 pmts past due. We have the payments but they refused. During their collection calls they cussed at us, came by leaving business cards with ugly notes, even called a family member and told them they could not wait to push the button and take our "beautiful" place. Reported their inappropriate behavior to under the fair debt collection act and got no where. Now we are looking at loseing our home -- HAVE THE PAYMENTS -- but they would not except them. Again at the time they refused our payments anymore it was for only 1 month. What the *&^*( do we do now.
