BIG LIE:

Any fee quoted covers our complete service as quoted in writing and is based on our reliance on your answers to our questions prior to our fee quote. Rest assured, this fee will not increase no matter how many hours we have to work on your case. You will not be charged a percentage of the reduction in taxes or at a costly hourly rate. Time is off the essence. All that we require is that you complete your questionnaires and respond to our requests for information within a reasonable amount of time. It is our goal to complete all of our clients work within two weeks of beginning.

They will take your money, have you prepare everything for them (otherwise they will charge you more money), and then treat you so poorly that it will push you away to do business elsewhere. Not to mention that if your tax is complex and takes longer than THEY want, they will charge you a reopen fee. I have asked them for a refund and send them letters to direct any questions or phone calls to my power of attorney person, Beth Ortega. What they do, call me instead. I was advised not to talk to them as if they had the right intentions that they would refund my money. What they do?.... They blame me for not returning their calls. If anyone has to take responsibility is Washington Tax Services. Just stop wasting my time and refund what you owe me. For everything that I've been through with your company I will never give-up until you do what it is right: REFUND MY MONEY.

Mr. B is the author of four of the eight complaints on this website:

12/20/2005
2/14/2006
2/21/2006
and the final update here on 6/16/2008

As he documented, he agreed to continue working with us after responded to his complaints back in February of 2006. From 2006 to 2007 all of his returns were done by our staff. In 2007, we were ready to present resolution to the IRS on his case. We contacted the client and left a message with him. The problem was ANOTHER Power of Attorney was filed on his account with the IRS. We couldn't proceed unless this other Power of Attorney was REMOVED. The client DID NOT RETURN OUR CALL.

In April 2008, his secretary or assistant called us for us to send his boxes back to him. Which we did. We had NOT heard anything from this client until spotting this fourth complaint. Mr. B if you do see this response from us, do contact us so we can resolve our issues with you, finally. Thanks.

For everyone wondering what happened to my case with Washington Tax Services.....

I gave up! It is just kept costing me more time, money and aggravation trying to get anything from them (including the services that I paid for). They ripped me off and continue to rip off other clients. They're the biggest scam out there. They didn't do anything for me and unfortunately I lost over $5,000. They should be put out of business and forced to refund moneys taken from people that they did not provide any service to.
