SEO Reputation Management at its best!

I have a situation that I would like to bring to the publics attention. While employed by Waste Management Inc., during the time frame of 2001 to 2004, we were illeagally video taped in their men's restroom.

My concern is that this matter has not been taken seriously and will fall to the wayside without justice being achieved. The employees filed with the EEOC. At the end of their investigation, WMI was found at fault for sexual discrimination, giving the employees the right to sue within 90 days. The tape was also turned over to the Phoenix Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit. The case came to a halt without resolution.

We then hired Grant Woods to represent the employees. A civil suit has been filed. At this time there is still no resolution, we have been left feeling betrayed, frustrated and disillusioned.

In Waste Management's own words they comply with both the spirit and the letter of the law and they conduct their interactions with honesty and integrity. WMI Phoenix has also been responsible for violations of employees rights in the recent past concerning Union campaigns where federal judges have entered decisions against them.

If you have any doubt about what kind of company Waste Management is this should clear it up for you. If you have a choice of who does your trash collection I would do it with anybody but Waste Management.

AUTHOR: R. West - (U.S.A.)

FOR ALL TO KNOW, I GOT ON HERE TO FILE A SINGLE COMPLAINT. MY COMPLAINT WAS NOT WITH WM. JUST LOOKED OUT OF CUROSITY.

THE PRIOR COMPLAINTS I LOOKED AT WHICH WAS SEVERAL DOZEN DIFFERENT COMPAINES, ALL HAD COMMENTS FROM THIS SAME ROBERT.

I THEN JUST CHECKED A FEW COMPAINES I HAD DEALINGS WITH IN THE PAST, WHAT DO YOU KNOW. PHSYCO ROBERT HAS A COMMENT ON EVERYONE OF THEM.

HE IS OBVIOUSLY SOME SORT OF LUNATIC, WHO HAS NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN READ ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS AND CRITIZES THE COMPLAINTANT.

WE SHOULD ALL NOTIFY RIPOFF REPORT OF HIS ACTIONS. THIS SITE IS FOR REAL COMPLAINTS AND REAL REBUTTALS, NOT FOR SOME PSYCHO TO BAD MOUTH EACH COMPLAINT. IT MAKES EVERYONE WITH A REAL COMPLAINT LOOK AS IF IT IS FRIVILOUS.

ROBERT: THE FACT YOU SIT ON HERE EVERDAY AND LOOK AND COMMENT ON EVERY COMPLAINT MADE NO MATTER THE TOPIC OR NO MATTER THE COMPLAINT SHOWS YOU NEED HELP.

YOU SIR, ARE A PSYCHO, YOU NEED TO GET A LIFE AND STAY OUT OF OTHER PEOPLES BUSSINESS.

YOUR RANDOM COMMENTS WHEN YOU HAVE HAD NO INTERACTION WITH THE COMPANY OR THE COMPLAINTANT IS TROUBLESOME. YOU ARE THE TYPE OF PERSON, FILLED WITH PHSYCOTIC TENDENCIES, THAT LATER SHOOTS UP A SCHOOL YARD.

ROBERT GET A LIFE! THE FACT THAT YOU LOOK ON HERE EVERYDAY SHOWS YOU ARE NUTS, PURE NUTS!

Person missing point is you

AUTHOR: Michelle - (U.S.A.)

What part of against the law do you not understand. It does not matter if it was a mens restroom or a womans restroom,it is against the law to put hidden cameras in any restroom,no matter what you do in there. People in a civilized society expect privacy when they go into a restroom, thats why they have laws against putting hidden cameras in restrooms. When you enter into a society like the military you must expect that there might be very little privacy,it's part of being a team,i don't want a team of people watching me in a restroom. Mabey your set in your ways, thats fine, but to have a closed mind about what some people hold dear,PRIVACY.In a very public world, where information about us is scattered everywhere, our homes and restrooms should be where we can scratch where it itches in peace and privacy. Yes there are cameras everywhere nowadays,we unfortunatly have grown accustomed to this fact, but we have not grown accustomed to cameras in bathrooms, restrooms or locker rooms,it's just wrong. Also i think you should re-read the work place bullies article,it says Waste Management was found at fault for sexual discrimination by the EEOC,that just happens to be the wording of the law in Arizona, instead of say,Peeping Tom,not the wording of WMI or it's former or current employees. Recently a detective installed a hidden camera in the locker room of the Ontario California police department, the court recognized the serious infringement on the rights of these police officers not to have a hidden camera filming them in the locker room, why would this case be any different than the WMI case? In closing,we are not in the military and sometimes it's not just do what you have to do,wipe, get out,it's not just that simple,it's consideration for others. What if it were children or teenagers being videotaped, would you have a different opinion?,your opinion should be it's wrong no matter who it is,men, women, male, female, child, teen, young or old.

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

ex wmi employee

AUTHOR: Joseph - (U.S.A.)

I was an employee at Waste Management and can attest to the hostile work environment. I am also a victim of this vile act of voyeurism, a hidden camera placed in a smoke/fire detector in the men's restroom. Now this might not be a big deal to some, but i am sure if it happened to you, or a member of your family you would have a different position on this matter. Arizona law 13-3019 says, it is unlawful for any person to knowingly photograph, videotape, film, digitally record or by any other means secretly view, with or without a device, another person without that persons consent under either of the following circumstances.

In a restroom, bathroom, locker room, bedroom or other location where the person has resonable expectation of privacy and the person is urinating, defecating, dressing, undressing, nude or involved in sexual intercourse or sexual contact.

It does not say Waste Management is exempt,it does not say if you have more than a certain amount of money then it's ok,it does not say if it's a mens restroom it wil not be enforced.

The Phoenix police department were inept, and our attorneys,Grant Woods and Kenneth Countryman,if they were not in the back pockets of Waste Management then i don't know how they have licenses to practice law, these two were worthless to say the very least.

Michael C. Manning,Waste Management attorney, either did not view the videotape of men urinating in the restroom or he is a lier, when in court on 11-28-2006 he said it's only a camera in a mens room and you can only see from the waist up. I had to identify myself on this video at the Phoenix police department,i saw full view.

Against the law has very little meaning to me anymore knowing Waste Management is getting away with it,and no one is doing much to achieve justice.

I wonder what kind of message is being sent to big corporations by letting this crime go unpunished.

In our society cameras seem to be everywhere, they should not be in bathrooms anywhere.

You missed the point entirely, Michelle

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

The OP is making the claim that WMI is committing "sexual discrimination" because they only have cameras in the men's room.

That, in itself, is silly. By using the same logic, his complaint would be rendered moot if WMI installed bcameras in the ladies room.

It's called "spotlighting absurdity, with absurdity".

As for wanting others to watch me do my thing, oh well. Like I said, in the military, you are going to live in a squadbay at some point. The head/latrine/lavatory will contain over a dozen toilets without stalls. Everyone can see everything everyone else does. Unless you are doing something the head isn't there for, what is the problem? Are you going to tell me you have never seen the "equipment" of another female? What's the big deal? Do what you have to do, wipe, get out. It's just that simple. You're not in there for any other reason are you?

Here's a newsflash...boot camp eliminates alot of stereotypes when you have 40 guys taking showers in a group. It's the same with the females. Maybe I(and every other military member) are just a tad bit more mature about these things. When I was in school, we took group showers after Phys Ed. Even the nerds took off their clothes. Personally, I'd be more inclined to be worried in a shower with a group of guys, than in the lavatory. Then again, I am just so dang sexy, I have reason to be.

Here's another newsflash...dressing rooms have cameras too. The rest areas along highways have them. SURPRISE!!!!

There is obviously a reason WMI installed the cameras. I seriously doubt it was so perverts could sit there getting their jollies watching someone take a dump, or stand at the urinal.

Do I need to explain why they installed the cameras, in more detail, to you?

I do not believe this gentleman was speaking of an outhouse in the swamps of Florida where some might find it enjoyable to have others peer at them. This would be a modern restroom with doors so one would expect a certain amount of priacy. If you or anyone has any regard for the law or a sense for human dignity you would find this activity of hidden cameras appaulling, whether it be in a mens restroom or a womans restroom, though i think if this was a womans restroom there would be alot more outrage. I support Cristopher in his attempt to get his message out,for if Waste Management can get away with breaking the law, then the law is meaningless. Companys can then put cameras in any restroom of either gender and spy on us no matter what we are doing.

Huh?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

Are you saying they would have been okay had they videotaped what goes on in the ladies room too?

How does being videotaped equal sexual discrimination? What exactly are you doing in there you don't want them to watch? The head in a squadbay has 20 commodes, and NO stalls. Are you worried someone is looking at you and laughing?
