Wave Advertising is running a Pyramid Scheme within the company.  This is reported by multiple individuals.  They also solicit people that don't wish to be solicited in big retail chains like Best Buy and Home Depot. They dress often as store employees to try to get people's trust.  The company tells you (the potential sucker) that they can move up very quickly in the company by soliciting people and giving leads to a 3rd party.   They also have a fake sales sheet, with fake numbers, to get the potential salesman to sign on. This company is full of false promises!  Stay AWAY FROM!  Don't give someone who walks up to you trying to get your personal information in a retail chain the time of day.

Thanks for the Feedback

AUTHOR: Jen - (U.S.A.)

I was Middle Management before a layoff last year and have decided to take time from the Corporate World to finish a degree I never had time for.  I have been looking at secretarial type positions that do not require the long hours or travel I experienced in management to allow time to complete my degree.

I figured as a P/T student, an entry level position in a growing organization would mean growth within the organization over the next 12-24 months in time for graduation. :D

I sent over my resume responding to the ad and received a reply email within 10 minutes asking to schedule an "interview".  Before scheduling, I replied asking for a job description and exactly what industry the firm was in as the ad on CareerBuilder was non-descriptive.

They did not respond to the email, but did start calling leaving messages trying to stroke my ego begging for an interview.  I knew something had to be "up".

Thanks for posting so I do not waste my time.

All Lies!!

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

I have worked for this company and it is ALL LIES! Everything reported is true and Andrew and Jay can not seriously look
you in the eye and say it is not true. I have worked or I should say slaved for this company for much longer than I should and when I left I was so relieved to never go back. I was excited when I got the email, the interview, and even the job... that soon turned into getting sucked into working from 10am-8pm and not getting home till about 10pm on some
nights.

You have to use your own car to drive to the "territories" your team chooses. I don't mind driving however there is no compensation for the gas, mileage, or any other measure for the sometimes 80miles a day you may drive. Then you knock on complete random doors (whether you have permits or not) trying to pitch homeowners. I have had the police called on my PLENTY of times. not because i was dangerous or threatening but simply because it is soliciting and I needed a permit to be out there.

Andrew says he has one for almost every town but it is a lie because he is to cheap to spend His money that I make for him to give me a permit to work. Luckly for me, I never got into trouble with the police because I was professional and explained what I was doing and was politely just asked to leave. (however, I have heard stories of people getting fines and then having to pay for them and Andrew would not pay them the compensation)

They say you can move up and anyone can become an owner but that is  not true unless you trick people daily to believing every lie you can come up with to get them to sign up for appointments as well as lie to interviewees about the great benefits of working for them (yea right). Andrew is a complete ***bag who thinks he is on top of the world and he has amazing success his great company. He does not care about his employees and only cares about the money they make him.  Well if he can look in the mirror and sleep at night then he deserves to stay in his crappy company.

For those of you who are smart and look up the company before going on the interview or applying, take my word on it. Do NOT even call or email them back!!Just skip this job opportunity completely because it is full of lies, cocky bosses, and is just not worth the effort. Save yourself the time, interactions with police, and dignity.

If you do decide to go on the interview be prepared for this pleasant picture. Being dragged on an interview from 11am to whenever they decide to go home(usually around 8pm) to the middle of no where with the option of being stranded or waiting till the end of the day. if you enjoy that, then enjoy working 12 hour days with the possibility of getting weekly pay checks which may not even cover for 2 days pay in a McDonalds. Have Fun with that!

Wave is a joke!

AUTHOR: slayyou - (United States of America)

That's right, ANDREW!!!!!!!! You don't know a thing about the business world and you are a liar. Your reps aka "distributors" all lie to homeowners and I've already reported you to Power and the Better Business Bureau. You wasted my time. I was a salesman before you were in high school. Here's a word of advice, ANDREW... Don't be a coward and hide behind the people that are making money for YOU. You aren't as smart as you think you are. I interviewed with one of your "employees" who said that you were "under the weather"... That's funny, because YOU, ANDREW, were eyeing me up and down while I was waiting for the interview... Then, the next day, YOU were that same guy that was eyeing me.... You're a real piece of trash and I'm not done with you yet. I know way more people than you do with power and influence. We are gonna take you down, you loser scam artist.

I went on an interview there

AUTHOR: jay1234 - (United States of America)

I agree with the initial report. I was out of work and while looking for work, I submitted my resume to one of their adds. They responded very quickly with the following:

--------

Thank you for applying with WAVE ADVERTISING GROUP. We are excited to inform you that management is interested in meeting with you for an interview. They reviewed your resume and feel that you are qualified for one of our open positions. They also compared your resume to others received and feel that you have the right skills set and experience they are looking for in an employee.

This is our busy season and unfortunately interview times are limited. Please call our office at 732.922.2700 to secure a time for an interview.

------

I went on the interview. The place has a few offices, one big room and is as flashy as their webs-site, with very little "content". One of the owners meets with you and gets you feeling comfortable about what they are. Then sets up another "interview" where you go out for a day with a sales person (with no pay) and basically do the job. They say its to show you the job and to make sure the sales-person is comfortable with your ability to do the job. Whats the job? You stand in home depot and try to sell crap that people don't want or can't afford, in a suit and tie.

The worst part about this is that this company takes advantage pf people that are put of work and really need a job. It gives them high hopes and then lets them down terrible hard once they realize they have just been scammed into working for free and wasting their time on the false pretense that you finally have a job, in such a bad market. They take advantage the fact that there are so many unemployed workers, that you'll do anything for work. Even stand in a home depot making a fool out of yourself. While the "owner" sits in that office with his Rolex and $1000 suit convincing you that you can make it big there.

I actually responded to another add from them recently, as I am again out of work, forgetting it was the same scam. When I got the same email the next day I remembered.

Avoid them unless you really want to waste your time. They should be shut down as there are a few of these type of scams in the central Jersey area.

Scam?

AUTHOR: waveISaJOKE - (United States of America)

I am an employee of Wave Advertising. I am posting this anonomously to keep my paycheck. However, this company is truly the epitome of a pyramid scheme. My rebuttal to the above response could quite possibly get me fired, however the word needs to get out about companys like this. There is an automated response from one of the bimbo-esque human resources women making you feel special and that your resume is impressive, whether or not you have a college degree from an acredited college or university. They call you about setting up an "interview" and make you feel comfortable and even needed. Then afterwards, you are eventually called back saying that either a second interview is yours or even the job is yours! Yeah! Celebrate! Wave Advertising should truly be shut down. There are many other companys like this, such as; The Marketing Professionals Inc., 1080 Group Inc., etc. The websites are all flashy and say alot of "bs" but don't really tell you anything. These companys need to be disposed of. Thanks.

False info on Wave Advertisng

AUTHOR: Daos49 - (United States of America)

Wave Advertising is not a pyramid scheme. The person who wrote this article probably does not even know what a pyramid scheme consists of. The person who wrote the complaint said we work with best buy, which we dont. We work with home depot as one of our clients in which we have a partnership to promote certain products through in store promotions in only the stores that we have contracted out to us. It also stated something about false sales sheets with fake numbers, which is probably in reference to the store number in which our representitive is working in for the day. As an employee of the company there is no promises of moving quickly up the corporate ladder, just a guidline to follow and with hardwork people are able to move up to higher positions. They make it very clear that it takes a good work ethic and not everyone is going to move up rapidly. Just because someone might have had a bad experience or hold a grudge against a company for some reason does not give them the right to tarnish a business where people make a living at. If you have any question about this matter, my managers gave me permission for you to contact them, at our main office line (732) 922-2700. You can either ask for Andrew or Jay and they will be more than happy to answer any question you may have to clear up this matter as soon as possible. Thank you.
