I am an angry single parent that is tired of the Wayne County Court system failing to collect child support payments from these dead beat parents. My child's father is $13,000 in the arrear with his payments and everytime we go to court concerning his payments of the child support, nothing ever gets accomplished.
I would like to know whether there is anyone who could help me start a petition to put a new law into affect concerning parental failure to pay child support.
The law would consist of deadbeat parents being charged with a felony of child abuse for failure to pay child support once the arrears reach $10,000 or more. The reason I feel this law would be sufficient for deadbeats is because the parent that has custody of the child(ren) cannot make the option of not supporting the child without facing charges of neglect, child abuse, child endangerment or have your child(ren) taken away.
The father of my child sits there and makes the decision on which one of his children is worthy of his support, of course, my child is not one of the chosen. He is only ordered to pay $348 a month and that is asking too much as far as he is concerned.
It's amazing how the employees of the Wayne County Friend of the Court can sit there and listen to his lame excuses as to why he can't pay without giving him the reasons as to why he will pay. This court system is failing all of their citizens. Wayne County does not give you a break on your property taxes; they will place a lien on your home if you don't pay them.
However, saving the youths of this world today seems very low on the list of priorities in the world today. Something must be done about parents who intentionally neglect and abuse their children.
Please give me some support with this situation, so our children can receive the respect and treatment they deserve.

So it's the Friend of the Court's fault that you had a relationship with someone who doesn't take care of their responsibilities??
You knew this person when you "loved" this person to marry or have a child with.. But, you can't tell me you didn't have any idea that he didn't take care of his responsibilities. Or was it that it didn't matter, because he was doing for you, but you were together...
There are thousands of fathers (and mothers) out there who keeps a job and $ is being taken for support and they continue to work and don't have a problem paying support.

My Ex husband is British and lives in England. Because he doesn't have a SS number, Friend of the Court claims they can't force him to pay any of the $28,000 he owes in child support.
The lady on the phone told me that i'm $hit out of luck.
I have ALL of his information and they claim they can't do anything.
What good is FoC if they can't MAKE these men pay for their children????
These men know that the court will not make them do anything.
What is our recourse? What the heck are we to do?
