Do not trust the Web of Trust website, or use its add-on for your browser.

This "trust" site is untrustworthy, itself. If you look carefully, you will discover that many good sites have been unfairly rated "bad," while porn sites and scams have been rated "good" (many of the scam sites they rate well are somewhere in Europe, primarily Russia).

In addition, look at their "evaluation forum." It is full of innocent webmasters asking why their perfectly good site was trashed. When they ask for a better evaluation, the people who run the site get on and start demanding impossible things of the webmasters, and calling their sites "phishing sites" or "scams." They have no proof to back up these claims, and when you look at the site in question, it's obvious that the sites are perfectly legitimate. The people "rating" the sites just seem to like giving website owners a hard time and trashing them for no apparent reason. The more a site owners asks for help, the worse their rating gets. I have to wonder whether a bunch of teenage boys or Russian Mafia are doing the ratings.

When you add this plug-in to your browser, it slows it down significantly. It misleads you with misinformation about websites.

I would not recommend it anyone. Do not install it on your browser. Do not ask them for a rating. Forget you ever saw it. If the internet is lucky, Google will demote their status and they will go away.
