Their marketing is deliberately designed to hide the fact that a credit card will be charged $10 per month. Heres how they do it. They offer you a $10 reward cash back credit for what appears to be free. I dont even remember signing up for it. But lets assume that I did click something somewhere. I never entered a credit card with their company. They borrowed it without my explicit permission from another company RegNow, who Im sure gets kickbacks from WebLoyalty, and of whom I will never do business with again.
They claim I entered my email as a legal signature, but anyone can enter any one elses email. Thats not a signature! How dare they claim it be? Later, I get tons of emails from them telling me about the $10 cash back reward that I should spend. It is spam, as they well know, and I dont bother -- numb to junk mail like everyone else alive today. In fact, the spam is so bad that I create an Outlook rule to lump them with the hundreds of other useless email I get each day. Finally, they send a plain email with lots of ways I can spend my $10 cash back, but oh, scroll to the bottom and find a confirmation statement about the fee that will be charged.
I have many of the emails that they sent me in a Junk folder. d be happy to submit them to any lawyer prosecuting them in a class action law suit.
It says at the very bottom of an obscure email (as Im sure their lawyer advised them to do day one) that I will be billed $10 each month, which, to no surprise, is the exact same amount as the cash back, obviously designed to look like the cash back amount so when one is quickly scanning junk email, it is ignored. But despite what they and their lawyers will claim, I NEVER GAVE THEM PERMISSION! Permission is when I give them my credit card number NOT when someone types in my email, or they take it from another company. They merely assumed it by lack of response A SURE SIGN OF A DISHONEST COMPANY!
I questioned WebLoyalty directly about the charge and they IMMEDIATELY refund all charges made to credit card without further ado no questions asked. I didnt even ask them for a complete refund, just to unsubscribe. Sound ideal doesnt it? I feel sorry for the rest of you who had to spend effort for your refund. I should be happy shouldnt I? But Im not! Because I know that there are ways to write complaints where a deceitful company, like WebLoyalty, will just refund immediately and hope that the disgruntled customer will merely go away and not cause any public scene. And this is why I feel obligated to write something public.
I, as well as you and thousands of other people on the net, see right through their little scam. No one with a brain would ever actively choose to be their customer. They offer no value! That is why they have to sneak cash flow away from unsuspecting customers. A company that offers real value can ask their customers to enter a credit card, can ask their customers to actively verify a service fee, and can ask their customers to go out of their way, spend 60 seconds, and do something real to accept the fee. But a fake, conning, swindling, misleading company like WebLoyalty cannot. Instead, they surreptitiously ask their customers to passively do nothing to accept the fee, but yet require them to actively go out of their way, such as what Im doing right now by writing this complaint, to actively NOT accept the already accepted-by-default fee. And this is my complaint!
I wonder how many other suckers, and I feel like one of them, do not even know that a little Reservation Rewards mosquito is sucking their bank account each month. Even the name, Reservation Rewards, is deliberately designed to look inconspicuous on a monthly bank statement.
I filed with the BBB and got a response. I would not be surprised if their response was just a form letter that was generated automatically to handle the tons of complaints they get each day. I would not be surprised if owners of that company are not at this moment laughing with contempt at my (and your) despair and dissatisfaction.
