This is concerning a free savings account i was issued (so they claimed). they decided to start charging $7 fee per month for my account since it was not being used. this account was meant for a private business i am struggling to get off the ground. they said notices were sent out stating the change in terms. i did not see any notices. when i talked to the card service hotline on the back of my atm card, they said they couldn't do anything since the status was inactive. they changed the status back to active and said i had to go to the bank in person and they would honor a refund. when i got to the bank they said it was card services that is supposed to give the refund and not them. i had to close the account to avoid further fees to be taken out. now that it is closed, neither side will help me. they say the closed status prevents them from doing anything. they have the history in their computer system showing the money they embezzled from me and they can easily refund it as promised, they just won't.

Embezzlement?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

If you truly believe that it was embezzlement why are you going to the bank?  Why are you not going to your local law enforcement to report this crime?  Could it be that it is not embezzlement, but in fact just another case of a person who doesn't think that reading the terms of an account is something they need to do.

Sorry, but even if you say you weren't notified that they were going to change the terms.  At most they would have taken out $7 for one month before you got your monthly statement.   If this $7 is the difference between your business succeeding or failing...it is just a matter of time before it fails anyways..Sorry.

Or are you also claiming that part of this conspiracy is to intentionally not send you statements and this went on for years and years before you found out?  If it wasn't years and years, why not tell us exactly how many months you failed to check your statements for.

BULL!

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

Whether or not YOU chose to read the terms of use of the checking account, YOU agreed to those terms when you used the account.  If they are willing to give you a refund of this huge fee then they are extending a courtesy to you.  When you want to get something done at the bank you don't go to the teller.  If someone told you the huge fee would be refunded, then you get to a decision maker to get it confirmed and acted upon.  ANY change in terms of the account are communicated to the account holder, in advance of the change.  Sorry pal, there's no "grand conspiracy" to "embezzle" anything from you.  Unless you actually work for the bank and your "business" is owned by the bank, any money missing wouldn't be "embezzlement" anyway.

However, if this huge fee of SEVEN DOLLARS per month is going to run your "business" into bankruptcy, then it isn't much of a "business" to start with.  And no, I don't work for them.
