I received a letter from Weltman stating that they were taking me to court over a Discover Card debt and I responded with a letter requesting copies of statements proving the charges because the amount they were seeking was far more than what I owed Discover. They never sent proof of anything. Later I received another letter stating that they were taking me to court so I replied with another letter stating that if they send me proof of the amount they were seeking I would be happy to set up payments and they never sent anything. They then went to civil court and was awarded the amount they were seeking and sent me another letter. I responded and requested a payment plan once again and received nothing back. They are now trying to take me to court a second time. I cannot understand why these people are allowed to do this. I'm now forced to hire an attorney to represent me when Weltman has yet to prove anything or work with me on this. Anyone else have these type issues with them?

Someone from Weltman called today and is trying to work with me. He was not rude in any way. Hopefully we get this resolved.

THIS LAW FIRM and I use that term loosely will lie and screw you
the reason they are not responding is because they DO NOT HAVE DOCUMENTATION TO BACK UP THEIR CLAIMS.
Ignore rebuttals from their employees, they are monitoring these complaints and responding with LIES. This is the 4th time this morning I have seen this business name come up. So they have staff watching and waiting to try and convince you that what they are doing is legal when in fact it is not.

Bottom feeder attorneys collecting for scavengers, filing lawsuits with pleadings and affidavits that fall into the wet ink' category of possibly being recently manufactured. WW&R work on a commission of what they collect and judgments they are able to obtain. Consumers are urged to vigorously defend any suits being filed by challenging the validity of their documents. Many WW&R court filings result from defendants failing to show; (always the wrong move). Always respond to a suit, show up in court, and challenge everything.
Debt buyers typically file suits that may be out of statutes, have improper pleadings, contain manufactured affidavits, and have no trail of ownership.
Any of these facts may be useful in a defense, which is why is it wise for anyone dealing with a bottom feeder litigator to respond aggressively, on time and armed with information.
Lawyers who deal with assembly line type bottom feeder attorneys tell me that in general they are lazy, make a lot of mistakes, take procedures for granted and are not always prepared for someone who did their homework. Make them work, or make them lose their case--they can be beaten.
