In November of 2004 I have started to work for "Werner-Enterprises" as a "OTR-Driver" Driving an 18-wheeler in 48 States (Continental US).
In March of 2005 I have quit volunterly "Werner Enterprises", because the weekly pay was between $ 100 (as lowest) and $ 800 (the highest ...with Christmas-Bonus), but the average pay was between $ 200 to $ 300 weekly driving 7 days a week, resulting in low Mileage dispatched!
another Issue was, that "Werner Enterprises" was never able to get me home in time!
On March-07-2005 I had enough, and I volunteerly quit, and I have turned in my Truck in the Phoenix/Arizona Terminal, and I have vacuum and detailed it!
The Shop-foreman have had inspected that Truck, and he stated in his report: "Turn in - inside clean" ...signed "BP".
"Werner Enterprises" had told us Drivers, that after the employment have ended, we will get our Pet-Deposit back after 3 Month!
I do now have requested, to get my Pet-Deposit being refunded, and have called "Werner-Enterprises" yesterday about 5...6 times, and got connected "Back and for" many many times, and every Department told me, they're not able to handle that, and therefore I do have to speak to ....." ?! ".....
with other words, they gave me the "Run around".
Finally, I have spoken to Mr. Alan Roberts, Supervisor of their Safety-Department, and he told me in his own words, that he don't want to put up with my Bullshit, he has 10500 Drivers to take care about!...>>> Yep, he really have used those words! <<<
It looks like, Werner-Enterprises feels like being bothered with me calling them to get my Money back, after I have returned a clean and detailed Truck to them!
There are also Payroll-stubs missing (Itemized Pay), and "Werner-Enterprises" is refusing to send them to me, and they stating as reason, that I'am not employed with them anymore!
I personal feel discriminated about that, because if I would still be employed with them, I would probaly got them send to me.
"Werner-Enterprises" done the same in regards of that DOT-Physical, and refused to send me a propper DOT-Physical , what the State of New Mexico in April of 2005 have had requested to get my CDL-Drivers-License being swapped over!... "Werner Enterprises" refused that for the same reason, that I'am not employed with them anymore!
I'am basicly entitled, to get my Pet-Deposit back.

Employers are not obligated to provide copies of payroll stubs previously issued to now former employees. If you got a paycheck, you got a pay stub. Werner's highly automated payroll system issues the payroll stub before the paycheck. If a public agency requests copies, Werner will send it to them. Otherwise, you will get a W-2 by the end of January 2006 for calender year 2005.
By the way, how does the standard corporate practice of not sending out duplicates of pay stubs to EX employees discriminatory? Given that I am an actual victim of gender discrimination by Werner (denied promotions, intimidated, threatened, harrassed, forced to resign), I fail to see how being treated exactly like anyone else in a similar situation constitutes discrimination. Try being denied promotions and opportunities because of what's between your legs, or sexually harrassed, or having your children threatened because you chose to gut it out rather than be forced out. Then you can talk to me about discrimination! Just because you failed to keep track of your paperwork, failed to be productive, and keep taking your problems to the wrong people does not mean you are being discriminated against.

I knew going into the job that the companies would try to cheat me. Therefore, I always took precautions.
The idea is to sell enough fuel so that you can drop the truck off and walk away even. If they pay you, great! If not, you already got your deposit back up-front.
If you come here, you can read all the horror stories about the trucking industry and how it treats its drivers.
That's why I don't do the job anymore. There's no money in it. Plus, they treat you like crap.
In your case, you will end up having to chase them down to get your deposit back. You're in New Mexico. They're in Nebraska. What's the chances?
You could file a wage claim. Even if you don't prevail, it will cost them good time and money to handle the claim.
Remember this for the future. You always want to take out insurance BEFORE you end up in a position where someone owes you money.
It's so much easier to tell them Thanks, but I already have taken care of my pet deposit. Nice working with you fellows. Peace out, good buddy!
That's how you want to leave the company!
