West Side Transport ( Cedar Rapids IA ) Liars and Cheats Cedar Rapids Iowa

This is what happened to me with West Side Transport as a truck driver. When I went to orientation i realized that they had lied to me to get me out to Chicago orientation. I wanted to leave because of the things that didn't match want had been told to me on a few things especially on the home time. When I tried to leave they told me if I did, that I'd be on my own getting to the bus station and to home. I didn't know Chicago to even do this.. I stayed  on the promise of the Fleet manager that I talked to. 

My second pay check I got from them I had noticed that they had taken more than 10% of my load as they said that they only paid from zip code to zip code, but saw that they were taking around 17% to 20% . I had a load that was for 570 miles and I noticed they only paid me for 500 miles. This is more than 10 % of my miles and if you do that 5-6 times a week that adds up.. The day I quit which was on a friday and I was suppose to be home for the weekend and i was already in the state I lived in , my fleet manager said that he could only promise me 24 - 34 hours home time, which was just another lie that added up as he was the one that assured me that he could get me home for 34-40 hours aweek because of my kids. 

I was told the day before I was taken off that load to keep me close by my home for the weekend. Then I was told after they had lied to me on a few other things that they would find someone to meet me half way, but didn't follow through on anything to make what they said to be true. I figured they would have just told me later they couldn't find anyone and I'd have to drive to IOWA. Sorry my kids come first as I explained !!  That day I ended my career as a truck driver as I was sick and tired of the same ol same ol lies just a different  company.  

  Lastly, if you do quit this company they will have you come back to IOWA then you'll have to pay for your bus ticket home  and as others have told me they make up s**t to deduct out of your pay , so you may or may not even have a pay check afterwards. What I did , because I knew if they had already stolen money from me and lied to me about home time. What would stop them from getting me up there , making up reasons not to pay me and then have me pay for my bus ticket home. Because I was so tired of the industry and I was all ready in my state, I had them come get their truck ! I knew what they were all about with my experiences I had with them and the many times I've been burnt by other trucking companies. 

Let this company deny what they did to me! The best part as I learned long ago to have the Application on your cell phone

that records your conversation. So they can deny all they have said to me as I hold up my cell phone ! . I learned  to record your conversations when dealing with trucking companies ! Especially when they like to use your phone instead of the D.O.T recorded computer. 

All of this is history, as I have completely left the trucking industry.  I just want to help other truck drivers to avoid working for this company !!!
